Go South imo
Any recommendation s, gonna visit the area in April?
but why ?
Go South imo
Great grandather fought in that region in WWI, and I'm fascimated with the Flanders region...always been a hobby of mine
Ah ok
I guess Normandy is a must visit for you since you're so nostalgic
sup DD
I lived in Paris 9 years and studied in Lille 3 years, I know a bit the region of the Ardennes from north of France to Belgium and Netherlands (well especially Amsterdam for the weed of course).
PM tbh I'd be glad to help you out
britanny is supposed to be beautiful. alot of dolmen and celtic influence along with the clash of british and french.
I grew up in Arras.
you parents were expatriated there? Arras is pretty ed up![]()
Arras is beautiful. Oh how I miss the toast, the fries, bread, crepes, champagne, uuumm those snails that people... I mean I used to eat.
Arras is quite typical of the northern Europe city, the cities are nice but the weather oh my godgood stuff about the region are the people
son you need to hit up every WWI memorial up there. The Vimy memorial looks s imo. Also look up any of the preserved trenches and bring back souvenirs. Sheffield memorial park, the Douaumont ossuary, the Beaumont Hamel Newfoundland memorial(where you can still see the trenches/craters in google maps https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.0...hl=en&t=m&z=15 ), Ypres in general, there's too many to list fwiw.
take lots of pics. tbh.
a french lady friend of mine wants me to go visit her in Toulon. place looks ing awesome judging by her pics. she's in the military though. only frenchie i know who loves to shoot guns.
16 will get you 0 in france
i could give u a solid recommendation to go south as I've been there quite a bit. The gay dudes place DaVinci los cluce. Chonneceau you name it. But I'm no longer interested in that...I wanna know where you staying. You've been trying to fly across the pond on buddy passes for some time now. Looking to stay in hostels...taking only 4-5 hunded cash...not washing your hands when u .
You're one ed up dude.
^i'm sure he wasn't looking for the dumb n!gger post when op created this thread![]()
I kinda grew up in Brussels
I accidentally drank Belgian beer when I was 3 years old
Went near Amsterdam with the family while I was in Belgium, but was way too young to appreciate the good stuff
If you go to Amsterdam, stop by Madurodam; amazing, realistic, miniaturized city
Awesome man, Lille is around the ballpark im thinking about. He was a gunner at the Battle of Loos, which from what i understand is a very small town now. He fought a couple others in the nord de pas Calais region, but they escape me. Will pm later, thx dude
Wait, you don't want Capri's advice? Don't believe he's a world traveler with great insights?
world travel costs more than 500 bucks tbh
$500...did he really say that? On my phone in rush hour traffic so i missed it. The company is giving me 3500.00 in travel expenses for each furlough, and even then I'm still anticipating OOP costs
Im definitely going to Ypres in Belgium. Hopefully i have time to make it down to some of the key Somme battlefields like La Bpiselle. Verdun, might not have enough time.
You better make time imho
I visited Belfort and Ronchamp. Pretty cool places. Not as north as you're looking, tbh. I went to visit a place called Notre Dame du Haut. It's a funky piece of architecture. Also visited Paris in the north. You've probably heard of it.
Don't forget your armband
