"The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have assigned center Aron Baynes, guard Nando De Colo and forward Malcolm Thomas to the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.
Baynes has appeared in 11 games for the Spurs this season, averaging 1.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 7.9 minutes. In his one start for the Toros this season on Dec. 1, Baynes posted 24 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks in 34 minutes of play.
De Colo has seen action in six contests this season for the Silver and Black, averaging 2.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 9.0 minutes. In one game with the Toros this season on Dec. 1, De Colo tallied a game-high 29 points to go along with 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals in 34 minutes.
Thomas was recently signed by the Spurs on Dec. 3 and will make his first appearance for the Toros this season. Prior to joining the Silver and Black, Thomas suited up for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the D-League. Through two games this season, he was averaging a league-best 33.5 points and 15.5 rebounds.
All three players will be available for Austin’s home game this afternoon against the Reno Bighorns inside Cedar Park Center at 3 p.m."
This should be an interesting one to watch. Bane and Thomas will be the mini twin towers imo
We'll see where they play Thomas. They could conceivably start a Baynes/Dawson/Thomas frontline. Should destroy the Bighorns whatever they do.
Look for Thomas to drop 38 and 16 with 6 ast.
Wow, this will be a destruction all right. I might actually watch this game.
Usually don't watch D-League games but I think I'll tune in to this one. I'm really interested in seeing how Thomas looks. Hopefully he can impress and find a way into the Spurs rotation relatively soon. I'm sorry, but Ayres isn't cutting it. I don't feel comfortable playing him ~15 minutes a game.
I predict 112 - 46 if all three play the whole game.
Somehow Ayres is too good for the D league...
I don't care how much they get paid, it must be stressful for players like De Colo and Baynes to be moved constantly back-and-forth from Austin to SA just to get more exposure and practice. At least the vets and rotational players follow a normal NBA schedule, and most times remain w/ the team for the season.
Nando, Flip, Baynes, Thomas , Jon Simmons are starting
Thomas can shoot. That's about it tbh. Black Bonner?
he can block shots
Nando will show the haters why he should be playing, per par..........
with the way Green is playing, I'd rather see Nando or Cojo getting his minutes.
Word............
Danny = Scrub........
Danny = Front-Runner TOSB

They suck in the NBA and yet they play like they're GOAT D-Leaguers, interesting.
Which is why we need to see Airs in the D league. If he sucks down there as well, then it's time to ship his ass far far away.
Thomas 3 ball looks smooth.![]()
