If he sucked in the D-League, he would probably be one of the worst signings the Spurs have ever made.
Baynes hit a 3 (didn't count)
And De Colo just got a fastbreak dunk![]()

why would u guys want cojo and nando instead of green? green can actually defend, and besides green is a sg... why would we start two 2pgs in his place
marco is fine off the bench
Another 3. Kid definitely has range. 20 points for Thomas.
29 for De Colo. Too bad he forgets how to play when he puts on a real Spurs uni.
Thomas
Hope he gets some burn soon.
Ayres is a 4th year NBA vet. CBA doesn't allow him to be asigned to the D-League aside of a rehab stint after a big injury.
yeah. All 3 players played pretty good tbh. If Nando could quit spazzing out whenever he gets into a real game, he'd be decent.
Ohhhhh. I did not know that. Good to know.![]()
All 3 are better than that scrub Jeff Ayres, tbh.
I hope they all impress enough to glue his ass to the bench soon.
another 3 (5 total) for Thomas!!
So Malcolm Thomas is now a combined 13/20 from behind the arc in 3 D-League games.
It's looking more and more like he has developed a legit 3 point shot.![]()
the big three combined 76 points tonight for the toros.
Best thing about it, not all the 3s were spoon fed to him, some were off broken plays.
Another positive, he has a high release point, so while the release is a bit slow (though it looked quicker today) tough to block with his length.

Ayres has too many years of NBA experience to be involuntarily assigned, dumbass.
Well aren't you nice.
He's got sand in his vagina because no one likes his favorite player.
Plenty of people here like Kawhi.
Baam is an ass. I'm nice where it's warranted and not wasted.
Because he has too much respect for his teammates and tones down his game. If you're not a specialty perimeter player in this system (Green, Bonner, Leonard), you need to have an aggressive at ude where you think you're the or else you won't get minutes. Jack, Neal, Belinelli, and Mills have that. CJ doesn't, JA didn't, and Nando has shown he doesn't. Too timid wanting to be a "system" PG when the second team needs guards that either shoot the lights out or are looking to make an aggressive play not just a first pass. Also doesn't help that he looks a step slower than everyone in the NBA game.
San Antonio SpursVerified account @spurs Spurs recall Baynes and De Colo from @austintoros. http://www.nba.com/spurs/news/131209_baynes_decolo_recalled …
But Thomas is stuck there?
With Splitter out and Duncan possibly being rested for some game with Spurs upcoming condensed schedule, Baynes should have some opportunities to show what he can do.
It's surprising to see Spurs letting Thomas with the Toros while there is a deadline coming for his contract to become guaranteed in less than a month. I don't know what to think about that move. Is it a positive or negative sign for him?
For Nando, getting meaningful playing time will be difficult for him given Spurs depth, quality and good health at the guard spots. He hasn't played a single minute outside garbage time this season which should be tough for a player that isn't especially young and has some qualities.
I think it's just a case of them wanting to see if Malcolm can sustain his shooting % over a larger group of games. Then they'll be in a much better position to gauge whether keeping him through the season will be worth it.
I'm more surprised that they haven't left Nando there to showcase him for a trade. His gaudy DLeague numbers should make him much more visible to prospective trade partners than languishing on the bench.
Well, if he agrees to go down they can send him. But he can veto it.
