That was a horrible read, the writer did make some valid points but most of it was full of . If the writer did any digging into the situation at Texas much of it is the politics of our grand govenor who is trying to change the face of education in Texas to some BS vision he has come up with. So he starts to appoint people as regents that will do his bidding, they are the leak and they have an agenda, it's called remove Powers.
Deloss Dodds was not forced out, he has serious health problems and needs to address them, not a known fact but a true one. Mack has been on the hot seat for some time. He had planned to step down after the 2009 BCS championship and hand the program over to Muschamp. He lost and decided to come back for one more season, a disaster season and all of a sudden he doesn't want to step down, so Muschamp moves on and Texas is rebuilding it's entire coaching staff. Mack for the last 3 years has been trying to right the ship and he can't do it, so now he is being forced out.
This isn't rocket science, it's self preservation.
I do agree that Texas has a few too many leaks but most of those will go away with the changes going on in Belmont. Getting rid of the regents with agenda will need to be done also. They will cause serious problems to the education level at Texas if Rick Perry has his way.

Ricky boy is trying to destroy the University of Texas by stripping core activities like research. Plus, he wants to lower tuition at all costs even if that means losing top notch professors who might leave for bigger paychecks among other things.

Perry is adamant about UT creating get-your-bachelors-online programs, Powers is refusing because he believes (and everyone else with a brain) it lowers the prestige of having a UT degree. We aren't university of phoenix.

It would be impressive if he did that with the talent levels that Tech or A&M was getting. But with the talent UT gets? There is no excuse for not having at least 3 championships and the majority of the Big12 les during his tenure here.

The only one that has really set itself apart from the pack is Alabama in recent years. Mack did it while running a squeeky clean program too.
