You know better. You begged for someone to take a loaded bet so you could get a reprieve from the brutal rape you were about to take at the hands of the Spurs. No one did, you left anyhow, and you came back when the coast was clear.

You've really no leg to stand on here.

So you've got no room, quitter. You're a dishonest merchant and your troll attempts have no bite because of it.

Oh, it's false when it's reported against your grain. But, it's the truth when it's reported to your specs. Boiled down:::you can dish it, but, you can't take it.

All those issues that I lodged had been rearing their heads in the preceding years:::he didn't want to travel. he didn't want to sign a long term contract. he wanted to groom Shaw. That was fine when we could cover our ass at 2 to 1 on the penalty for the luxury tax. No big deal. At 7 to 1 it's untenable. There is no room for silly errors that can be easily avoided. Things can't be like they were when the old man was alive and vibrant and the CBA was our security blanket. You need to face that reality. All Laker fans do. We're one of 30 nowPERIOD
Still better than what this team has now even if those reports were 'true'

    No. Trade. Clause.

-15 points for not knowing this mid.
I know he has that. But there are ways to convince him to opt out. Appeal to his narcissism. Jimmy could tell him the Lakers are going be in rebuilding mode for the next few years and he deserves to play for a "contender" (some fringe playoff team in the East, like the Hawks or Philly) in his final years.

I'm not even hating here. Kobe makes no sense in D'Antoni's system at this stage of his career. You guys need a young, quick PG, and a stretch 4.

Some dip GM would've taken the bait.

Anyhow, I'm just spitballing. I know a move like this would never happen in a million years. But the Lakers do need to shed all their bags (Nash, Blake, Gasol, Kaman, and Kobe).

Not going to disagree with anything you said in this thread tbh. Love what he's done for our franchise, but I'm so ready for the post Kobe Era. Fredo ed that up by giving him that outrageous severance pay CBA toxic contract extension before he even played one NBA minute. No negotiations either just nostalgic love for the 2nd best Laker of all time. SMDH

He gave it to him because of that 4th quarter up in Portland 5 ago.
He gave to him because he beat Pau half to death and extracted 2 from him.
He gave it to him because he granted on a contrite Phil when anybody else woulda said: "Are you out of your ing mind? NoPERIOD"
He gave it to him because he's living proof that his father chose wisely twixt him & Daddy.
He gave it to him because he beat Odom half to death and extracted 2 from him.
He gave it to him because he came to the front office with after being accosted naked in a shower with an idea.
He gave it to him because he double crossed mine enemies and made Artest take a niqqer's life after that niqqer had lied about not coming back to Los Angeles.
He gave it to him because he didn't have to go to our trophy case in broad daylight after he'd put one in and have to give it back because it wasn't ours.

All of ^ is nostalgia for past services rendered. I've admired him as a player since he was 17 and appreciate everything he has done for my favorite team. This new CBA has changed the game for the foreseeable future. He's worth well over $200M (after taxes) so it's not like he needed $48M. He could have taken $10M (or so) per instead of 38.7% of the expected $62M cap.

He was part of the negotiations that led the NBA players out of the lockout - so he knew what was forthcoming. This new CBA is basically neutering that $5M TWC deal the Lakers struck. The new CBA has leveled the playing field quite a bit. Just look at us: all that money and we're playing with a bunch of minimum players that are logging major minutes whereas on most teams they'd only play garbage minutes at best.

He wants #6 so bad but he wasn't willing to sacrifice to help the Lakers field a team that could help him get it. I'm not giving him a pass on this one. Name on the front Cubby. Not the back.

Lies, you hate kobe more than anyone i know. Why are you so concerned with the lakers tbh? and everyone is getting gone after this year cept kobe and nash, and nash will most likely retire on the pace he is on right now.

I barely post about Kobe anymore.

And my post isn't an indictment against Kobe's skills (or lack there of post-injury). It's about his game not meshing with D'Antoni's system. Kobe needs something like the Triangle.

    yes I'm bitter.

Just like you're still bitter over Magic signing, sealing, and delivering the Celtics a ring in '84. And bitter over the ensuing media spit roast of Magic's hide, and Bird's smug ass saying they should've swept the Lakers, when he knew damn well he got away with one, just like James this past Summer.
