In March of this year, it was a very true statement. If Cory Joseph isn't on this team, Patty Mills probably doesn't show up in shape in September.

A PG with no assists in the game when given a chance to be the main backup PG is not going to make it in this league. He blew his opportunity big time.
Which explains why the Spurs could use an upgrade as their primary backup to Parker.
not really. he's brought the bads quite often when it comes to Cory Joseph.
Wasn't this right after Tony went down with the ankle injury. I remember quite a few of us including myself who were rooting for Cory, and he his performance while tony was out was decent.
Cory Joseph was definitely promising last year. People seem to have forgotten that.
He's shown almost nothing this year, though.
Cody, we are like 30 games and it seems dude did nothing to improve his game in the offseason.
We have no time to improve Ayres or Josef so I hope Pop never use them more than 2 minutes per game.
Who is Cody Josef?
To be fair, Patty Mills was terrible last year. The weight loss helped him a lot.
I actually preferred Nando last year to be the backup PG but I guess he wasn't happy with his minutes.
Joseph is still young and developing. I'm glad you all have written him off already.
Against the Lakers in the playoffs, Joseph just went off for that little bit. Sure it was the Lakers but it was like a different person. Id like to see him find that Corey Joseph. Maybe Pops needs to unleash him.
@ rare, tbh..
Actually, the Spurs scored the most points per 100 possessions when Patty was on the floor with Manu (another reference to timvp's pair analysis) so I wouldn't say he was terrible. The only thing he's really improved from last season is his defence.
Yeah terrible was probably the wrong term. More like disappointing after the year he had in the lockout and the 2012 Olympics. He didn't really contribute last year when he was put as a starter but it also could be because Pop was inconsistent with the PG lineups last year. The way Patty has played this season was what I wanted from him last year.
Also Pop had a raging hard on for putting Neal in at point and that didn't help things.
rofl totally forgot Gary Neal was backup point tbh. Disgusting times.
fk that chucker, hero mfer.
"Neal I'm gonna put you in the game. If you encounter any sort of defense, do what you do best: pick up your dribble at half court and/or turn it over."
Would you rather have Neal or Errors?![]()
Neal. At least he was a rapist while Errors is the one getting raped on the court every single night.
2 assists combined in 2 games for this "point guard".![]()
