Wonder why? Lakers fan should be in here celebrating their bright future. Henry, Meeks, Swaggy, and the seldom mentioned Wesley Johnson are all young, exciting players who are a perfect complement to D'Antoni's run-and-gun system. In addition to that, you have two nice paint anchors in Hill and MVPau. The Lakers a quick point guard away from being a top 5-7 team in the West. Their wing problems that they had last year are now solved.

They have a ticking $48m problem. It's a problem that will sell a lot of tickets amongst the taco eating population, but basketball-wise, it's a problem.

They've righted the ship after taking a large wave over the rail. Fortunately that wave was more foam than water.

For real. With all the quiet around here, you'd think the Lakers lost by 40.

Good thread. I'm guarding my optimism. Kobe's contract will hamper us from retaining a few of them. We finally have young prospects - I'm interested to see if we actually get the chance to develop talent instead of poaching talent via free agency.

My keepers: Swaggy P, Johnson, and Farmar. I'm I also interested to see if Kendall Marshall is given a real shot.

If only we guarded the border like you're guarding your optimism, then we wouldn't be spending tax money on you, tbh

Yep. Stay away from Melo. Far, far away.

New league now. The days of ball dominant wings in iso sets are over. All about ball movement. Even the Heat move the ball a ton.

I am actually enjoying this year's Lakers. I know we ain't winning jack . They are entertaining and gritty. Kind of like how i saw our 1995 Lakers - right before we picked up Shaq and traded for Kobe.

The players that are retained for next year should for a good bench... I still can't believe Kobe's extension. This is gonna set us back a few years. SMDH

This team is fun to watch but all that means is an early playoff exit and no early pick.
