If you think of how we got outrebounded by Minnesota, and how many more TOs we had, it's a huge testament to effectiveness and team effort that we suqeezed out a win last night. The guys were straight back to the exciting, fast, fun basketball they were playing until Kobe's return. The mamba has to realize this, and completely change his MO for his next re-entry in his team. These guys could easily take him to the playoffs, but he really has to work with the coaching staff and figure out his role. I know it sounds crazy, what I just said, but not to lakers fans. We all saw what happened in the previous six games. The offense was gone. The ball movement was gone. The team effort was gone. The coach said he didn't know what they were doing out there, but it wasn't what he asked them to do... Let's sit back and enjoy our team, like we were up to 10-9, and again last night: they make basketball fun to watch. |

It is painfully obvious that this team is alot better WITHOUT Kobe. |

I've watched Kobe since he was 17 playing at the Pyramid in Long Beach, and he has never been a player that makes others better. He is the most compe ive tough guy I've seen, but it's time for the Lakers to either force him to adjust or move on. Everybody on hte team defers to him to the point that the ball just stops. |

I can't believe that I actually enjoy watching the Lakers when Kobe is out. |

Fun to watch, team ball. I have not see this since, uh, Phil's early days. |

The team played with energy and the game was quick-paced not like the last few games since Kobe came back. Unquestionably that is the kind of pace that fits MD system. |

They may be castoffs, but they're a good TEAM. And they're a team that really, finally fits D'Antoni's system. Energy. Team ball movement. Speed. I likey. A lot.
Will they win a banner? No. But they'll be fun to watch. And they're going to shock some teams along the way. Go Lakers! |

I do respect Kobe's playing but... the Lakers are playing very well without the mamba. The energy and swag during tonight's game was nice.
Defense wins games when you are the underdog with fewer rebounds, steals, and turnovers.
But, the Lakers had 9 blocks, 27 assists and 7 three pointers - better than the Timberwolves. |
I have seen a lot of Laker games, less than I wish. When Kobe came along, I had already seen a few championships being won, and I was almost 30. I was extremely disapointed at the Lakers for not being able to get past Utah in 97 and 98. There has been Laker life before Kobe and after Kobe, as there was life after Magic.
But yes, there is an elephant in the room and some just don't want to acknowledge it. |
We're 11-9 without Kobe. 12th seed in the west.
Only when hating on Kobe is an 11-9 team considered great. |
Well if you subtract the poor start where our guys were still figuring everything out our record minus Kobe is actually pretty damn good. |
We're on a 7-2 run in last 9 without Kobe.....and only one win vs a relevant team (Golden State). Last nights win was solid too but we've pretty much beaten a bunch of teams the same or worse than us |
