Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan is changing his team's name to the Hornets, said a person familiar with the situation.
The person said Jordan will detail the timetable for the change to be completed at a press conference the Bobcats have scheduled for Tuesday. The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because the name change has not been publicly announced.

Don't understand this needing 18 months for the name change garbage. They can just donate whatever Bobcats apparel (that wasn't going to sell anyways) to all those African and Haitian kids whose Patriots 19-0 gear is starting to wear out.
It's so Stern can have time to rig Wiggins to Charlotte and then make bank off the brand-new Wiggins Hornets merch....

Finally! It was bull that New Orleans stole the name from Charlotte. "Hornets" has had a strong connection with the city of Charlotte since the late 1700's. Glad to see they got their name back. Maybe they can close the book on what will be regarded as a completely dismal Bobcats era.
I was expecting Jordan to rename the team the Charlette Jordans and use the franchise to advertise his product.

Imo, they look like a Chinese bootleg version of the unis the Suns wore in the '90s, tbh....
They aren't as good as the 90's unis, but they're modern and clean, and they look real good on the home court.
Why can't the Houston Texans bring the Oilers back? Texans is ing lame and simple, with uniforms that reflect that.
