Westbrook is scary. Jeremy Lamb is scary. Reggie Jackson is scary. Even ing Derek Fisher is scary. Everyone is scary against us, because we suck. We look like an amateur team against professionals.
People will try to look at our record against teams that aren't even trying to win, and make us feel better. But the truth is that the team blows. This is the worst Spurs team in the post-Jefferson era. Part of me wants to believe they'll start playing well in the second part of the season, that suddenly they'll play defense and rebound well, that suddenly they'll show toughness. But part of me also knows this is wishful thinking.

We are 2nd in defense and 3rd in defensive rebounding percentage. Offensive rebounding has been a problem, has historically been a problem for the Spurs. We are 27th. Splitter has been the best offensive rebounder. He is a averaging more than Duncan while playing 8 fewer minutes.
everyone in this thread is aware of leonard not playing last night right?
was happening the whole finals with mike miller. i don't think he hit more than 3 contested 3's the whole 7 games.
I actually think we do need to get better down low too. splitter is ok but we could always do better. when splitter and duncan are out we are really bad on the boards. I propsed a trade in the trade/rumors thread that got no response. So I will post it here.
spurs get:
SF dorrell wright- is only getting 10-15 minutes in portland. has a good 3 point shot. and is a quality backup for kawhi and at 6'9" can play small 4.
C meyers leonard- is only getting 5 minutes a game. is behind lopez, aldridge, robinson, and freeland
SG allen crabbe- only gets 0-5 minutes a game. but is a shooter with very good length. 6'6" 2 guard. has good athleticism too.
all three of these guys are playing backup roles and aren't getting a lot of time. but could come in and help the spurs with rebounding and length.
portland gets:
danny green- I know some don't want to give him up. but with the emergence of bellineli green is tradable. him and manu man the 2 spot with crabb getting mop up minutes or decolo.
cory joseph- right now mo williams is their backup PG. joseph gives them a young guy to build with lillard.
aron baynes- fits in as a 5th big for them. young and can develop with them still.
matt bonner- gives them a stretch 4. at this point england has signed off on thomas and his shot. making bonner expendable.
portland gets more experienced. helping them make their push this year. they also get a dead eye shooter to go with mathews.
if the spurs trade green, he'll be out of the league as soon as his contract is up.
I don't see Portland wanting this trade. They don't need Joseph having drafted CJ McCollum. There is no reason at all to give up a lottery pick like Leonard and take back Baynes in return. I can't see why they would want a stretch 4 like Bonner when they have Aldridge playing big minutes who specifically doesn't want to play center.
The Blazers need Wright as backup for Batum, they wouldn't trade him without getting a replacement and we don't have one to give them.
If the Spurs really saw something in Allen Crabbe we'd have drafted him. I suspect his poor at ude turned us off. Don't see the Spurs wanting him and besides, what exactly does he have over Green? He is basically a less inexperienced, unproven version of Danny.
Just a horrible, horrible, horrible trade for Portland. They literally get shafted in every aspect.
