I'd love to witness first-hand Katrina 2.0 next weekend
Let's bet on the game. Loser can't post on the forum for two weeks until the two teams play again. Man up.

expected loss. just not expected to be this pathetic.

all is well. still hold the lead in the NFC South and gotta split with Carolina.
Yeah, it wasn't the fact that the Saints lost, it was How they lost. Pathetic effort and execution. The Carolina game Sunday night means everything now. I'm confident anytime we are at home.

Looking forward to see how the team responds in St. Louis next week. I liked how the offense increased the tempo today. Hopefully we see more of that.

It was good to see the defense back to normal after a fluke performance last week. I was never worried about the veteran offense. It was nice to see that Colston can still be a #1 WR.

The offense worried me tonight because I wasn't sure if the o-line could handle their front. But they were great and the WRs got open. Also impressed with the secondary tonight. They helped the front four with some of those sacks.

son can't front ... this one just straight up sucked. from top to bottom just pure garbage. however all great NFL teams go through these types of losses at least once or twice a year.

the Saints have already shown the Panthers who their daddy is once and they will do it again next week. Sean Payton and Drew Brees will not lose back to back games. in my opinion next week is the season for the Saints.

They should have more losses if the refs wasn't so struck by Bree's commercial star power.

No doubt, next week is definitely the season and should be treated as such. It's pretty much a playoff game. Win, and we clinch the division, the #2 seed, and a 1st round bye. Lose, and we will likely be one and done in the playoffs.

Also, it would mean being able to rest the starters in week 17.

Agreed. The Saints outgained the Panthers 365-222 and even outrushed them 126-81. The Saints are the better team, but Sean Payton's clock management has cost us twice this year. Now we have to pull for the damn Falcons next weekend.

His play-calling was even worse today in the first 3 quarters. Saints ran the ball easily down their throats and he didn't call enough running plays and let Brees struggle with his decision-making and behind poor blocking. This loss is on Payton.

sons here is the bottom line. the Saints are still going to finish the season 11-5. the ending to the season has certainly been disappointing, but happens. look at the Ravens last year who lost 4 out of their final 5 regular season games, the pathetic regular season Giants who finished their season 9-7 and went on the win it all, etc.. the playoffs are what matters.

I have absolutely no idea why the Saints who have been one of the best NFL road teams in years past are such this season on the road. they outplayed both New England and Carolina on the road this year and lost both games the exact same way with pitiful play calling and time management in the final minutes of each game. this year is far from done however and the playoffs are right around the corner.

They weren't that great on the road in 2011 either even though they finished 5-3, but those wins were against crappy teams like Carolina, Jacksonville, and Minnesota and a very close win against a solid 9-7 Tennessee, and an OT win at Atlanta which was the turning point of that season. But all of those wins outside of the Minny came were very close and Minny was just an awful team that season starting a rookie Christian Ponder.

The problems this season on the road is mostly on the offense. They're not consistent whether its Brees, the pass-blocking or Payton's play-calling. The last two weeks and the Jets game were mostly due to bad play-calling by Payton. He gets too cute at times instead of keeping it simple. Today was another example where Ingram was dominating on the ground and only got 13 carries even though the pass-blocking was bad and Brees decision making was awful. His two careless interceptions cost the team 10 points. But the play-calling is on Payton as well. He knows the o-line isn't good yet he doesn't try to take pressure off of them by running the football. The only road game where the offense played well was at Chicago. Even with the late collapses at New England and Carolina, the defense has been solid to good on the road with the exception of at Seattle and the run defense at the Jets.

I think the Saints can win some road games in the playoffs, but they're easily capable of being one and done. And honestly, it wouldn't surprise if they pulled a choke job against Tampa next week. That would be a devastating loss, but this loss was devastating as well.

son regardless they had put up the second best road record in the NFL over the last 5-6 years before this year. a win is a win. plus no team actually plays better on the road than they do at home (consistently). I mean look at this season for other examples of good teams not playing well on the road as well. the Saints are not alone ...

Bengals: 3-5 on the road (10-5 overall)

Patriots: 4-4 on the road (11-4 overall)

last year's Super Bowl winners are 2-5 on the road, etc.

Yeah the whole road thing isn't a big deal to me. Its just the lack of execution at times which is mind-boggling.

    right.

the simple fact that the Saints have averaged 13 points per game in their last 3 road games .... yes 13 points per game.... is almost unbelievable.

well sons another regular season is in the books. we had our ups, we had our downs, but overall a damn good year. from the Goodell Agenda 7-9 season last year, to 11-5 this year. I'll take it.

the offense was solid, the defense has drastically improved, and we put 5 players into the Pro Bowl. Brees broke more records as usual and had his fourth 5,000 passing yard season (to put that into perspective only 8 times has a player reached 5,000 yards and Brees has half of them). Jimmy Graham stunted his ass off most of the year as well leading tight ends in receiving yards, receptions, and leading the entire NFL in touchdowns.

depending on the outcome tonight it looks like we'll be playing either Dallas of Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs.

It was great to get back to our winning ways this year for sure, but it's definitely bitter sweet to lose 2 games because of poor clock management which cost us a first round bye the #2 seed. I'm just glad that we won't have to travel to Lambeau in the first round of the playoffs.

happens son. this team shouldn't have lost at least two of their games this season, but it happens. right now none of that matters.

Yep, we are in the tournament. Recent history shows that once the tourney starts, all breaks loose.
