Didn't Westbrook get injured in the 1st round last year?

How do you know OKC wouldn't have killed San Antonio again last year?
You're still missing the point. OKC will never win a championship with their current core as long as Miami is dominating the league. With Harden, they could have had a chance after Miami's decline but instead they'll likely flame out when Durant or Russ leaves. They're a small market team. I do think OKC has a good roster, but they will always be below Miami. They could have been the overwhelming favorites with Harden. The NBA is in a weak era, compe ion wise.

Miami has a much shorter window than OKC does, Westbrook and Durant are barely in their primes now man.

I think all of three of them will be fine when April comes around. Leonard should get more plays run for him. Parker does look like he is going through the motions, but I don't think he isn't 100% and I hope Pop is telling Green to work on his driving game during regular season games, so if what happened in Miami happens again he will be more prepared because he isn't shooting a lot of the three's he was making or even shooting last year. I still think we need one more guy on this team to make it us complete, but I think the whole losing to elite teams is stupid. Miami did the same crap in 2010, and they at least made the finals. We will be fine, if they were playing like this in early April yeah I would be start getting worried.
For sure. I'm not worried about blowing the elite opponent games. OKC, Portland, and Houston are all tough matchup for the Spurs so I expect the Spurs to lose the regular season games. As currently constructed though, the Spurs don't look that great. They are below Miami, Indiana, and OKC as of right now. Like you mentioned, it's still early in the season. There's a lot of room for improvement. The Spurs never peaked early in their le years anyway.

They peaked late in 2012 and still lost the WCF.

Miami was going to win that year regardless of the opponent. And that's exactly why I think Harden would have made OKC much better. The Spurs had a tremendous end to the season but still lost to the superior OKC team.

Another tough loss to a team that we will maybe see in the playoffs. None the less, this game didn't mean much, and the Spurs can only go forward from here. They missed a lot of open shots, and the perimeter defense needs work.

A win in Dallas tomorrow would be a good start to recovering. Here's their upcoming schedule:

They have A LOT of easy games coming up against scrub teams like the Kings, Knicks, and Nets. Mavericks may be a little tough. But Portland and LA Clippers are the crucial games to win.

Why don't we sick Baynes on Dwight? I mean c'mon!
Because it works? Why do that when Ayres can get in there and turn the ball over, miss two foot shots, and fumble rebounds every play?

I'm pretty sure Thibodeau was still with the Celtics that season.

I'd go look it up if I were you, because I think you're wrong, and if you are, your statement makes you look stupid.

Spurs have a good record because they are beating the teams they are expected to beat. In the second half of the season they will need to start doing a better job of coming to play against the better teams. Both losses to Houston were inexcusable. Houston shoots in the lane or they shoot 3's. We failed to defend and they made us pay for it. The guys looked and played disinterested out there tonight.

Houston is one of the dumbest teams in the league and I don't fear the Spurs matching up with them in the playoffs. Pop will get the necessary attention and the Spurs will respond.

In any case, if Thibs was on the 2009-10 squad, that only reinforces the notion that Doc Rivers can't succeed without him — hasn't gotten to the finals since Thibs left.

That's not to say Thibs is without sin himself. On the contrary, Thibs runs his young players into the ground in the regular season and is responsible for the premature demise of the Bulls' le hopes. But Doc Rivers is a bottom tier coach in this league — barely an improvement over Vinny Del Negro — and Thibs is certainly much better.

The top teams in the West: OKC, Portland, and Houston, all present bad matchups for the Spurs. Unfortunate for the Spurs. They desperately need a trade especially with the decline of Parker/Leonard/Green/Splitter. We still have a lot of time to improve at least.
Josh Howard is waiting for an opportunity but there's gotta be a good reason no team has picked him up yet, right?

Pop needs to stop playing Kawhi on Harden, put him on Parsons so he doesn't go off. Plus it allows Kawhi to help on Howard since he's able to cover a good bit of ground.

No help defense unless it's coming from the weak side when he's in the corner. Tired of giving up wide open shots because we pack the paint for no damn good reason.

First off, I love your avatar.

Second, by "dumbest teams" I mean that the Rockets brand of basketball relies way too much on shooting the 3. They made them tonight and the results were great but there are times when their shot selection is absolutely awful. When you need to value possessions, these guys are just as likely to take a 3 early in the shot clock when it isn't necessary. Missed 3's often lead to long rebounds which can lead to easy transition baskets the other way.

In the playoffs, my $$ is on Rockets being forced to go inside to Dwight. He is a liability on offense and will come up short when it counts. If they don't go inside, then you can count on Houston shooting way too many contested 3's. That is a low percentage shot and the Rockets will die a quick death. There is no in-between with the Rockets. Its points in the paint or 3's. Tonight the Spurs - for the second time this season - played lackluster defense and allowed Parsons and Lin and whoever else to take uncontested perimeter shots.

Pop will fix that, no doubt.

Thx, ur Ava is Hawt!!!!!! Yes, the rox live and die by the 3 ball. When it's falling- omg they are scary good. Lin, casspi, brooks, parsons and harden do have mid range shots and showed that some tonite. Right now as presently constructed - they need all players healthy and on top of their game (incl the 3 ball) for them to beast. If 1 thing/player is off/hurt - they can/ do get brought down to earth. - see pacers vs rox. N e way - take care.

The sad part is that oot Parsons struggles mightily against alot of other teams, yet makes everything against the Spurs.
I hate whining -ass posts like this. He does not "struggle mightily against alot of other teams." He's one of the better all around small forwards in the game.
