Kawhi's defense & effciency has gone up this year. He's averaging the same stats as last season with LESS minutes per game. His 3PT shot has been off, but other than that he's improved in every other area.
Last 10 games, he's averaging 13 ppg 6.5 reb 2.0 ast 1.4 stl on 50% shooting and 39% from 3. He doesn't get a lot of shots because of a certain heroballer on our team. Give him 20 shots and let him dribble the ball, he could put up 20 points on 45% shooting, no doubt. That's not what we need from him though. His main role is defense & rebounding. Once Timmy retires, this kid will rise to s om.
He's a far cry from being an all-star like you all were predicting. Lower the bar for that re .
He doesn't need to be an all-star for us to win 60 games this season. He can do that in the playoffs when we need his scoring.

Kawhi averaged 21 and 14 for the last 2 games of the Finals with Lebron guarding him. He'll become a star when we need him to.
So, a guy in his 2nd year is supposed to close out the Finals on the road at the line? I don't blame him for that. He had 22 points and 11 rebounds in that game on 9-14 shooting, he was a big reason why we were up in the first place.

He had a 20 and 10 game for us in that game and he made 64% of his shots. He has a lot of room to grow. How can I put the series on a young kid who's role was to defend and rebound?

I think leonard is already playing near his full potential and the ceiling I see for this is no higher than a prime Smokey or Gerald Wallace (Smokey and Wallace were about the same level, since trading one for the other was considered a "lateral move" at the time). His points will increase as his shots do after Duncan and heroball retire but It's gonna be hard for him to maintain such efficiency when the opponents' defensive attention is on him imho.
It's not the same as game 6, but the Timberwolves did it against the Clippers on December 22 and also lost in OT.
