These Cowboys are really similar to the 2008 Saints. That team lost a ton of close games and finished 8-8. They fired the defensive coordinator, hired Gregg Williams, brought in Jabari Greer and Darren Sharper and the team took off going 13-3 and winning the Super Bowl. The Cowboys could make a similar turnaround next season. Fire Kiffin, bring in a new DC.

Sean Payton had a lot of issues as well as a play-caller before that 2009 season. He was too pass-happy, always get Reggie Bush more PT over Pierre Thomas who was clearly a better rusher and cost the team a ton of games with his play-calling. He finally brought in a good defensive coordinator and leaned more on the running game in 2009. I think Garrett can do the same.

You have to have LBs who can cover receivers. We have one that can do that, and he was injured most of the year. We need to get back to the 3-4.

Anyone with two 's worth of football knowledge could have told you a year ago that Monte Kiffin trying to run a Tampa 2 with the Cowboys' personnel would be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. There was no possible way Kiffin would be able to take a roster of defensive players built to run a 3-4 and convert it to a successful Tampa 2 defense in one ing season. Cowboyfan will say that's just hindsight, as if there was no reason to think Barry Church and Jeff Heath wouldn't be able to run a Tampa 2 like John Lynch and Dexter Jackson did.

If you think the problem is that they need to go back to a 3-4, you should be pointing the finger at the guy who fired a 3-4 coach a year ago for a guy who's never run a 3-4 in his career. Just admit the obvious, Jerry Jones wanted a scapegoat so he fired Rob Ryan and brought in Monte Kiffin a year ago because of the name recognition without giving any thought to how ty the personnel fit his system was, and he's finding a scapegoat all over again when it's his fault Monte Kiffin was there trying to run that system in the first place.
