he was interception prone. though yes, he was the best thrower of the football, as far as mechanics, footwork, release, arm strength, touch, etc.
det release is still the thing I remember most. Once he made up his mind the ball flew.

Was I the one posting threads about it and links? I didn't know about it until he posted them. I am betting him being a Saints fan that he cares alot more than me. I am a damn FINS FANI suffered enough the last two weeks with them choking again to care about a record the X Fins QB owned years ago which was broken. Records are meant to be broken, if he has it then so be it if they take it away well still a great year for the QB. Trust me BR will be hurt alot more than most in here if the record is broken because Brees has it.Yes he had 18 ints that year, still had over 100 rating and that 48 and 5084 yards at the time was unheard of. I agree on all you said. He was the prototypical QB if you ask me, just made to throw the football.
BTW records with recievers getting over 100 catches now and Stafford getting 5000 yards in this pass happy league far from impress me now like most have stated above. thoroughly agree on all of it. This is a pass happy high scoring pussy league now because you can't do on D.
son you do realize it was only a 2 score game in the third quarter right? and that Brees sat almost the entire 4th quarter after getting a comfortable lead? .... oh wait no you just turn a blind eye to the facts.
I didn't know this and only checked cause I was curious not cause I wanted to pretend I did, but compared to the other QBs in 1984 Marino's interception total was pretty good. His INT% that year was 6th lowest in the NFL (3.0%). 2 of the 5 QBs ahead of him were total game managers, and the other 3 were studs. Given how much the rest of his team relied on him and how mediocre his teammates were, I'm impressed he didn't throw more picks.
Son I love watching Brees play. Most electrifying QB in the league under the Sean Payton system.
sure, in that era more interceptions were certainly common. still, over a pick a game for his career. i wasn't trying to knock him. heck i praised him more than anything
LOL Matt Flynn shattering Packers records in their system
LOL Matt Flynn carrying the Packers into playoff position in their system while Rodgers sat at home pissing off his boyfriend.
Matt Flynn shattered records and Rodgers' gay ass still got the MVP over Brees. Ouch!
peyton did not break the record
oh and peyton hates letting the running back run the ball
Denver had great running games before he got there
peyton refuses to let them run
HE wants the control
his record
and let him choke again this postseason
Broncos were 7th in rushing TDs and 11th in rushing attempts
Broncos were an above average run offense this year..ducks acts like Peyton completely disregarded it. But yeah, when you have Peyton and 4 great receiving threats you should be a run-first offense. Makes sense
Son, did the Louisiana taxpayers get a ring too?
son no more than any of the other dozens upon dozens of other cities and states that have given tax benefits to their professional sports teams. don't be lame.
notice he calmed down and backed off when the brotha got up in his grill.
"nah we're cool. he's doing it. he's yellin at us"
I mean seriously yelling at Jeff Saturday? look at this dude ...
he legitimately looks like a nice guy who wouldn't hurt a fly, doesn't like to raise his voice, and just wants to be hugged. no wonder that brotha got up to defend him.
Uruguay
and you're a front running, overnight Broncos fan.
When all else fails, go for the front running angle
when all else fails and my team sucks, cheer for the teams that ESPN tells me to.
