Joe Wickline is a badass oline coach, and it would be a slap in the face to Mack Brown since he turned Mack down (before we took Searls) but accepts a job with Charlie Strong.
24/7 said today they would be "very surprised" if he wasn't the next OL coach. Encouraging.

Easily one of the few oline coaches that is better than Searls

Update on DT Courtney Garnett from 24/7...he says he's upset that Mack is no longer the coach, doesn't like the Strong hire and he's not sure if he would consider himself committed at this time. He's looking at OU and Tennessee currently. Probably doesn't matter anyway as he's likely going JUCO.

Florida and Muschamp went with USC's OL coach, Mike Summers, instead of Searels.

OrangeBloods reporting Searels would like to stay in Austin at this point.

    Pulled from Orangebloods article:

With 23 pledges, there isn't a lot of room for movement with Texas in the 2014 class. Lindsey doesn't expect Strong to target current Louisville commitments, but he said he wouldn't be surprised to see Texas make a run at one or two of the uncommitted players Strong was recruiting for the Cardinals.

"My guess is he probably wouldn't pursue guys already committed to Louisville. But there are a couple guys I'd keep an eye on. (Poona) Ford, a defensive tackle out of South Carolina and Isaiah Ford (wide receiver from Florida), no relation, are both really good players. (Isaiah Ford) is a guy who said he's committed to Louisville for now and he's a guy the staff really, really liked. I think he's a tremendous prospect and way underrated."

"There are some uncommitted guys he was recruiting, like a T.J. Harrell, too. I could see that being the kind of guy he'd go after."

Why would a defensive player not want to play for one of the best defensive coaches in college football?

Hilarious that a co-worker of mine who is an OU fan believes Texas should have held on to Mack Brown and that we couldn't have asked for more than the production he was giving Texas Football. I sense a bit of fear and anxiety from our rival fan bases. A blind man could see that Mack was no longer producing the way he had us accustomed to. Appreciative of everything Brown did for us just funny that others having a tougher time accepting change than we ourselves.

FWIW, 24/7 doesn't think he'll get it and fully expects him to be Texas' new defensive coordinator.

Louisville's targets also include Bobby Petrino, Derek Mason (Stanford DC) and Chad Morris (Clemson OC).

there was a good interview with strong on espn. he's obviously very nervous right now but he was insistent on strengthening the program from within before focusing on what's going on with the recruiting world. that's clearly a different approach than what mack was using.

Wow, just listened to the Red McComb's interview on ESPN San Antonio. He is NOT a happy camper!! He pretty much threw the new regime under the bus and ran over about 3 or 4 times just for good measure. I have to admit I lost a lot of respect for Red after this interview. He sounds like he's fed up and gonna take his ball and go home!! Of course Minnix and Dat are defending him

Doubt it.... only way he comes around is if Strong gives him the same perks and access that Mack did, tbh....
