Love these games vs Memphis! Go Spurs Go
I knew Baynes wouldn't get the start, but for the love of , please let him get some real pt.
Did anyone expect differently? Pop even said himself that Ayres and Splitter are the same type of player.
The Grizzlies are a bad team. I would be disappointed if we lose to these guys.
Except Splitter can play the game of basketball and Airs can't.
Stop blaming this all on Pop..
This is really just boylen's work tbh..A lot of people underestimate the importance and influence of assistant coaches in the team tbh.
hopefully he fouls out in a few minutes from guarding Z-bo then Baynes comes in and dominates his fat ass tbh..
Pop saying that Ayres and Splitter are the same type of player is amazing since it took Pop how many seasons to start making use of Splitter?
Some day ST posters may figure out that Pop focuses on guard play (except for Timmy) and not on the big men. He clearly doesn't like Baynes, but then he didn't seem to like Splitter for at least two seasons, soooo - how come folks are surprised?
Remember that Pop brought us Rasho Nesterovich, etc. etc. It is not his strong suit, in other words.
Rasho (when healthy) actually played fairly well given his ability, was a pretty good defender and was a component of the 05 championship. So, Pop did alright with Rasho in my book.
Might be a record for a game thread meltdown.
My favorite was when in the '11 playoffs against Memphis. A 800 year old McDyess, a very hobbled Duncan, and Useless Bonner were getting skull ed by the Fat Towers. Meanwhile, Splitter sat on the bench, rotting away because Pop was too ing stupid to play him. He's a great coach but holy , does he make some full re mistakes sometimes. Ayres is definitely one of them.
I think baynes will end up playing for Philadelphia with coach Bret brown after he leaves the spurs
You know, I was gonna mention McDyess in the same sentence with Rasho, but for the life of me I couldn't call his name at the moment. Thanks for reminding me what it was.
Yeah I almost forgot it myself. He would've been a fantastic backup that year; he just couldn't handle starter minutes though. Oh well.
