Per 24/7, they think the new offensive coordinator will be the same guy Strong had at Louisville, Shawn Watson.
If the rumors are true, then our HC, OC, & DC will all be from the Louisville staff. Who will we have that has recruited Texas recently?

That's garbage. He said he'd want to meet with Charlie first and never gave him a chance. Though I had a feeling he was going to decommit just by his at ude when he heard about the signing.

True, but one of the reasons he changed his mind apparently is because Red McCombs (or one of the money men) doesn't like Strong. Stupid reasoning. Red is crazy as and would have hated any signing that wasn't Jon Gruden.

Exactly.. I saw this one coming for a while. So I'm not that upset, I've been prepared for this one.

@ONLYFORAKING: Texas is no longer a option
    DT Courtney Garnett
Not sure we we're ever a real option for him, he's going the JUCO route, am I right? Glad we're coming to realize the dead weight in this 2014 class. I'm hopeful that now we can see Charlie Strong attempt to bring in players of his liking. We now have openings to fill in this class. Time to work. Texas Strong.

Alaka is going to Texas based on what I've read recently without a doubt. Freeman is still up for grabs.
Cy Falls LB, and Texas commit, Otaro Alaka has set his official visit to A&M for the 17th.

Good and not a surprise. would rather to have someone who wants to be there. Still kind of odd that a defensive kid runs away from a defensive minded coach. Sounds like a softy. I wonder if he was able to talk to Strong on the phone and both parties thought it wouldnt work out? Being instantly 100% decommitted seems fishy. Either way, his spot won't go unused and maybe we can bring it someone better and wants to be there. Shawn Watson for OC isnt even fun to talk about. So much for "UT dealing with a significant budget in hiring assistant coaches." ?? Or are we just gonna give significant raises for average coaches? The OC needs to be a good one with a big name and resume.

There is no doubt that Akina had an incredible resume of sending Texas players to the NFL but with all the misses we had at the DB position in this recruiting class it makes you wonder if it was time for a new coach to step in and take over. With his reputation it was unreal that we weren't able to land some of the better in-state DB's.

“I have a better chance of going to the NFL at Boise than at A&M,” Sumner-Gardner said. “I looked into it. That’s one of the reasons I followed coach Yates.”

in other years, it was hard to see some players switch commitments but in a year when we have landed 3 five star players it's not that big in the overall scheme. if toledo and smu had higher ranked recruiting classes than we did i'd really be pissed off...

Wait, you're telling me Sherman didn't put DBs in the NFL? I don't believe it.

Who was the HC for those 6 DBs at Boise?

Sherman started coaching at A&M in 2008, does 2007 and earlier pre-date Texas A&M football?
