It's a 5 year deal. Too soon for Gruden?

I'm optimistic to see how he develops griffin based on how he developed dalton who is only an average QB talent. I'm concerned that he is reunited with a lot of his Tampa buddies though. Should be a solid hire though. Hopefully we can move towards a power run scheme and get bigger stronger lineman. Alfred has the talent to be a downfield runner IMO.

Haslett still being on the staff is disheartening though but I read somewhere that shanny forced him to run a 3-4 when he never had experience with it or liked it.

It's an underwhelming hire tbh, really wanted one of the SF coordinators or zimmer the bengals dc. But I guess this beats Schwartz and art ing briles. All the major sports networks seem to like this hire but what the do they know

Found a video on him tbh, redneck as :

Gruden called zone read packaged plays with dalton but yeah they won't lean on it.

Why not? Redskins got money and potential. They already got a good quarterback imo so you can check that off the list.

Holden_Caulfield, what's their draft pick situation like? I know they were annihilated by St. Louis. But with as much power RG3 has, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the so called helm of that franchise. But if he makes that work, he's gold thereafter. All that being said, I wouldn't have hired the guy. He certainly wouldn't have been my first choice with the availability of other coordinators and coaches out there. Time will tell.

I used to think highly of Chucky Gruden based on his fabulous runs with Oakland in spite of Idiot Al Davis and then of course the Tampa Bay Bowl.

But when he said no one might be better in San Diego then his buddy Norv Turner, he lost me.

We have 6 picks this year and then we have a full draft class starting next year. We have roughly 36-40 million in cap space as well. Got some talent on offense at LT, WR, RB, TE, and QB but the defense is trash outside of Kerrigan/orakpo/d hall. IMO build a line through FA, draft defense and take a WR in the third round in a stacked WR draft. Most of our good players are all on rookie deals

Rg3 and dan weren't near the interviews either, it was just GM Bruce Allen.nfl network is reporting that rg3 is one of the main reasons gruden took the job. If he can develop him like he did with dalton I'll be happy.

It's a job where there are only 32 positions in the world and a rich owner who will throw money at you. Are you really that surprised?

Rather have had the other Gruden brother, but not a bad pick. Whisenhunt and Zimmer were my top two choices then Gruden. I'm fine with Haslett staying if he is like the linebackers coach/assistant coach and stays away from the defense play calling. I like Raheem Morris as our DC and this Sean Mcvay that everyone has been raving about as our OC. Go back to a 4-3 defense now!

I'm hoping we snag one of these WRs in the draft as well. That's a nice bit of cap space you guys have there, that's for sure. Defense is for , I'd start there.

Your linebackers are pretty gold. I'd hit the secondary and DL.

if we stick with the 3-4, our ILB are garbage and London fletcher is retiring. riley is average but his hands are and robinson can't stay healthy. Angerer from indy looks nice

Kerrigan and Orakpo are really good, and you could pick up a LB or two in FA. I wouldn't waste picks on it, although I'm not sure what the FA market will look like for LB's this offseason. Worth looking into tbh

    My bad.
Why does Jon Gruden not get signed?
He must not want to coach. Can't imagine he has not been given offers.

Yes, he has said he doesn't want to coach this year, and would like to remain with ESPN.

So you want rg3 to develop into Dalton...who he himself has developed into another Romo?
