That Jet game really hurt. I figured it would come back to haunt you guys. That Ram loss too, although I wouldn't put my head down losing to St. Louis.
Yeah the Rams were a lot better than their record. But the way the Saints lost was terrible. Turnovers, missed FGs, poor tackling. Ugly performance. Same with the Jets game. Just terrible overall. And then choking away games at New England and Carolina. Frustrating.

I dont feel feel bad about both losses at Seattle, though today was frustrating since it ended the season.

Today was a winnable game. They moved the ball well throughout but couldn't score points. Defense was strong overall, the offense ran the ball well, but they got mistakes were costly throughout that cost them points.

Bad punt and Bush's penalty give the Seahawks 3 points.

Missed FG leads to another FG for the Hawks where they only drove 34 yards.

Ingram fumble sets up a touchdown.

Disasterous series after Meachem bomb ends with zero points.
Yep, Seattle is too good to fumble the ball against them, give them 3 points from a penalty, and miss 2 FGs, especially on the road.

We couldn't afford to fall behind 16-0. But even though we did, if Graham makes his 2 FGs, we are only down 2 points at the end instead of 8, Colston steps out of bounds there and we kick the game winning FG. Definitely frustrating.
I didn't expect t him to make the 2nd FG since the weather was crazy at the point, but the first FG miss hurt since it would have made the game tied at 3. Still they series was ended with questionable play-calling. After running the ball well to get inside the Hawks 30, the line was stacked on 1st and 10 so why not do play-action? Also, screens never worked yet they kept calling it all game. And in the end, 43 pass plays to 25 runs wasn't gonna get it down against that defense. The game wasn't a blowout. They had enough time to stick with the running game.

Seattle still has a lot to prove though. they need to prove that they can win big games outside of that stadium of theirs. they more than likely will be in the Super Bowl this year and I can tell you one thing .... that gimmick QB of theirs is going to have to do more than 9 of 18 and 103 yards.

The end of the season is hard any way you slice it, unless you're at the bottom of the barrel, and were throttled all season long. The Rams have a way of making you look pretty bad once the pass rush gets going. We know 1st hand. And, if we ended the season on the road in the dome, I probably would share the same sentiment. Losing to ATL last year has the same feeling as this game. 1st half, then, come roaring back at the end although you guys never took the lead. Same kind of feel though

I hate to sound down, but seeing how the 2011 season and this season end is hard since both teams were good enough to make Super Bowl runs.

I wouldn't call him a gimmick, he did throw for over 300 yards twice this year against two top 5 defenses.

I don't think anything will ever hurt as badly as that 2011 49ers game. Gregg William gave that game away and we were a shoe-in to make the Super Bowl as we would have hosted a Giants team in the dome that we absolutely crushed a few weeks before. I was so sick after that loss. Even if we had won today, we would have still had to go on the road and win the NFC Championship game, and It just felt like something was missing from this team compared to 2011.

Yeah I thought you guys were the best team in the NFC last season and expected a Seattle-San Fran le game, but the first half at Atlanta was a disaster and then the defense melted down against Ryan.

Honestly, I don't see San Fran or Carolina winning next week. I think the Saints are better than both since those teams have limited QBs. If the Hawks can avoid turnovers, they will win.

I agree that the Niners loss was more crushing. Brutal loss that hurt for months afterwards since that team was going to the Super Bowl and would have put up a lot of points on a bad Patriots defense in a dome stadium.

Still this defense had the talent across the board to make a run. Top notch defense and Brees yet they blew some games.

My primary concern is San Frans ability to run the ball. They have the weapons on the outside as well, and any mistake could just end the game against that defense. I'll be more sure of our odds if Percy passes protocol. You guys could have just changed things even if you're out of the tournament from here on out.

But Kaep sucks in the pocket regardless of who he throws to. Your guys will lock up their guys force Kaep to make some tough throws. Gore may get his, but it's easier to cheat the run against Kaep compared to Brees. Kaep has been terrible against good defenses. Now I think they will defend Lynch better and Wilson probably will struggle, but I would be surprised if they score more than 10 points.

its all about match-ups and to beat seattle you have to run the ball... which is what SF and Carolina strive at and NO doesn't. They both size up very well with seattle

also tough to say you are better than us when we won the division and beat you guys js

All of this makes sense, but there is so much familiarity between the two teams that anything can happen. I'd rather face Carolina tbh. But, I have a feeling we'll have to go through S.F to get to the promise land.

Well both games the Saints dominated and crushed the Panthers in the Dome while barely losing at Carolina. The Saints ran the ball well today, but also have a bigger advantage in the passing game. Panthers won't be able to pass the ball regardless of how well they run it. Saints ran well over 100 yards today and have a bigger threat in the passing game.

I do think the Panthers will limit Lynch and the offense in general, but I don't see how they will score.

you did not dominate the panthers the second game. we stopped you guys at crucial times and was winning the majority of the game.

cam newton is hot and cold and i agree it would be tough for him to play well against Seattle... but it's not impossible and he can easily run circles around their D. you out of all people should not question newton's clutch ability. he is not as bad as you are making him out to be.

to say seattle would win or limit him is understandable. to say "i don't see how they will score" is ignorant.

Well, considering Carolina has scored 19 points in the last two games against Seattle, and at home to boot, he does have a point. But, we'd have a hard time against your defense, so it would be a close game regardless.

yeah but that was before cam started being more conservative. when we played you guys in week one he played a lot different... always looking for the deep ball, etc., etc.

we went back to our roots and started running the ball a lot more.

Whats the difference between limiting and asking how they will score? How will they score? Seattle is fast enough defensively to keep Cam in the pocket and he won't have any open receivers. How will he score?

Saints are more of a complete team than the Panthers. There's a reason why the Saints crushed the Panthers at home and barely lost on the road despite dominating in yardage and time of possession. It was just a choke job with blown coverages that cost the Saints the game. The Saints are more dangerous since they have a strong defense and play makers on offense.

But that game was at home. It's a different story on the road.

Besides, a better Panthers team in 2005 got crushed at Seattle in the NFC le game. I think this game would be closer, but I don't see the Panthers scoring more than 10 against this defense on the road.
