How has he regressed like that? I know it would be a severe blow to his confidence, but so is going out there and sucking every night. I like the guy a lot, I am flabbergasted that he has regressed - maybe the Spurs didn't have enough resources to work with him the entire summer. He dribbles the ball hunched over like he got shot in the testicles while tying his shoe. I've seen dogs mating that weren't even hunched over that far. WTF?!?!?!

    He was never good, tbh..

He made some open jump shots during the playoffs last year against weak compe ion, and timvp overhyped him last year to the ST masses..

He just doesn't have the tools to be a good NBA player, tbh..

this is the truth. cuckvp could come back tonight and say that Nando is the future of the Spurs and half the people here would jump on that bandwagon.

When has CoJo ever gotten consistent playing time? tbh. Ayres looked like garbage early in the season but now with consistent playing time he has improved. CoJo just needs to get consistent minutes. Of course he's going to look horrible when he's just thrown out there randomly.

    He's a PG that can't dribble..

If you're a PG that can't dribble, the only chance you have to be successful in this league is if you're an elite spot-up shooter or have a massive body(like Andre Miller, for example, and he's an anomaly)..

    Joseph doesn't fit either category..

I like what Cory's doing well enough. He still needs time to season, but I think he's going to be called on as a seconardy defender until Green comes back. I think he's almost there offensively. I think his drives are impressive, even if they're out of control. He's making better passes, and his spot-up shooting is good enough for his position. I like his intangibles, and they'll get even better as he matures.

I think it's possible that he's still a big part of the Spurs' plans for the future. They certainly don't seem to be developing him as a role player. I don't know if they give him any direction other than to just go out there and play.

Yes, he looked really good. I hated the draft choice, he blew at texas, but last year I was really starting to think the Hill trade was even better because Joseph was doing a great job with his minutes. I had no idea what happened from the end of last year to this year; he was getting no time.

not quite sure but he definitely took over the reigns. I know he didn't like Mills and that kinda transferred over to this season as well iirc.

It's mental with CJ. He's not a starter and can't be relied upon in the playoffs, but if he were consistently aggressive, he would be a fine regular season back up. But it's up in the air IMO since you can't teach aggressiveness. He just doesn't have it in him when he's a part of the rotation.

He is very shy and has shaky skills outside of defending. If he were just aggressive and hyper, he would be fine, but he's not so he isn't (speaking offensively).

He's clearly regressed from last year, and it has everything to do with losing the backup PG to Patty. Last season he was full of confidence, knew his role and played it really well. He was a low-mistake offensive player that got his team into the sets and played solid D.

Now, he plays with a complete lack of surety and forces the action when there's nothing there leading to poor execution and turnovers. The defensive effort is still there at least, but outside of that he's lost.

The good news is I think he can break out of the funk. I'm just not sure what motivational button Pop has to push.

He should. Maybe let DeColo get some burn instead, he at least handles the ball fairly well

Yes he did. Looking back at his highlights from last post season. He was primarily a product of Manu's passing. Cutting and running the floor well, but he can't create offense for himself. Teams can ignore him on offense and he doesn't make them pay. Mills is the better option, even thought he is the most likely spurs to struggle in the post season.

Also a better shooter, he doesn't hesitate as much shooting the ball. Better passer, but does make some bad turnovers. He's also bigger (6'5). It would be interesting to see how a De Colo-Ginobili-Belinelli- Diaw-Ayers lineup would do.
