Why does the Blair > Splitter argument make me think back to the Chris Whitney > Tony Parker argument?

Smith just isn't motivated! People forget Smith was guarding opposing teams best man also when the Knicks was winning an Shumpurt was hurt! Smith by creating his own shot would open oup sooooo much. All that standing an waitibg for Tony to kick it to you that grewn does. He sucks! Can dribble to save his life or creates a shot. Green aint even near a motivated Smith's level. How quickly some of you dump s forget!
If Smith isn't motivated after 9 seasons in the NBA and nearly being out of the league all together nothing will. Watching the Mavs @ Spurs game George Karl was asked about Smith and he (sugar coating it) called him immature. He coached him for much of his time in the NBA. Green is a far superior defender and shooter.

Smith needs the ball to score. Its a completely different mentality from having the ball in ones hand to waiting on the wing for someone to pass to. I don't think he would be better than Green was.

Green is one of the 5 most accurate (active) 3pt in the NBA for his career. He shot 43% (nearly 10 percent better than the league average) and made 177 3's (7th in the NBA). He was big reason why the Parker-Green-Leonard-Splitter-Duncan lineups worked so well.

Smith is a volume shooter and continues to make mistakes on and off the court.

I can't think of a single rational reason why the Spurs would want this overrated chucker JR Smith. And even Shumpert. He is a typical New-York-overrated type of a player. Just remember Steve Novak, Landy Fields.. Where are they at now, huh?
I literally forgot Landry Fields was still in the league.

JR Smith . You guys can't be serious.
Pop is his love with him, value is low as , Bonner + 2nd imo should be enough. It's definitely intriguing... And like Jermaine said he can really play D if he feels like it... It's kind of a no brainer... As far as potential upside goes, it's as good as it gets...

Pop wanted JR before he was widely viewed as a cancer, a long, long time ago..also, George Karl hates JR Smith after coaching him, and Karl is a good friend of Pop's..

Woj said they wanted him when he came back from China : http://sports.yahoo.com/news/china-f...0247--nba.html

The salary is too big and there's injuries concerns with his knee but the upside when playing small is huge...

his play alone makes him undesirable, let alone his contract. Manu, Marco, Leonard, and Green are going to combine for less than 17 million next year. any minutes that smith gets will come out of these guys' minutes, and he'll be making good money while doing so. no thanks

I'm not saying it's a done deal or anything but Beli is a pretty bad fit with both TP and Manu defensively, they need to be surrounded by at least competent defenders...

I don't know any players on the Knicks that are worth getting anyway.

Does Metta look completely done as a player now?

Who can say with a straight face they want JR Smith. has been a headcase for as long as anyone can remember. Now that he got paid he has no reason to change his act anytime soon. Add to fact that he still hasn't fully recovered fron knee surgery, WTF are some of you guys thinking about.

Joseph is physically built for the post-season, and his strengths are better suited for games that matter.
The only thing Joseph is built for is the D-League, and just maybe the Slovenian Basketball League.

Boston with their 9th loss in a row, working their way further down the EC standing; could look for expiring contracts to restructure roster next season.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=koq4zk4

Again tough to judge what EC teams will do since difference between 8th and 9-15 isn't that big.

talk about a pipe dream lol. i can't see Boston parting with Jeff Green. he's the one guy they're going to keep through this crapstorm. he's a bargain given his current contract

Would prefer to trade for Marvin Williams of the Jazz, as they wouldn't need to give up Cory -

Jeff Green's stock is very low, he's clearly nothing more than a good starter, tbh, far from untouchable..

Jeff Green would be a decent upgrade. He doesn't really do anything for the Celtics and will probably never live up to his original hype. He's just an above average player. But for the Spurs, they get someone athletic who is desperately needed against the younger and more athletic teams like the Thunder and Warriors.

BTW, I wouldn't trade Green for JR Smith. No way, no how. That was a bit of me being a smart ass since he Knicks had "scouts" at the T Wolves Spurs game and Pop wanted him on our team years ago. I think I would much rather have Green's Defense and cheap contract. If we could have Smith for Bonner, sure. Why not? I still think Green is more valuable to this team than we realize on some nights.
