They do, I created it just for them....and they are still here
No, he just wanted us to know. not sure why A&M doesn't have its own thread.
They do, I created it just for them....and they are still here
How many times has this been discussed? I have asked TFloss directly if it bothers him when Aggies post here and he has said no. If it does, I am sure the other few Aggies on this board wouldn't mind abiding by his wishes, considering he's not an idiot like some of you.. This is his thread, after all. We target the same guys so a lot of news is directly relevant to both schools. Posts like Thompson's probably aren't necessary, I agree, but many times it is relevant.
Is this real/reliable info? I actually like some of the rules, but some of them seem a bit out there.
I'm pretty sure it's legit. It was all over the ing place this afternoon. Also jives with his stint at Louisville. He don't take no mess.
Speedy Noil is a bad man.
fuuuuu.....I hope he's exaggerating.
Ok TFloss thinks its fine, but the rest of us hate it...mosey on along
This was the post made seconds after mine, by a Texas fan, on the 'Texas recruiting thread':
This thread tends to cover recruits for both schools - often (at least in the past, and I expect at times in the future), both schools will compete for the same recruits. And we don't have a TFloss. If it bothers you that much, ignore my posts. No need to be so sensitive - obviously other Texas fans think it's at least somewhat relevant.
It's fine with me, and usually pretty relevant. Scroll along
I don't mind it as a whole. Now if all of the Aggie info was like Thompson where it was painfully obvious that your only objective was being a got then it would agree they need to get their own thread.
People post about both teams here; to some degree, it's an overall compe ion between the two schools - the better A&M does, the more problematic it is for Texas, and vice-versa. I was surprised to see Garrett was the #1 recruit in the nation, and I didn't realize Noil was that highly rated - I figured others (mainly Aggies who read this thread, but some Texas fans also) would find that interesting. A&M has never had the #1 recruit, much less half of the top 6. Surprised many are pouting so openly actually; I knew it would bug some, but not this much.
You knew exactly what you were doing with that post. None of us here are stupid. , your fellow Aggie even called you out on it.
Again, just stick with posting things for informative purposes only. There are plenty of other threads for measuring contests and/or inferiority validation.
Gloating? Yes, of course - it was also interesting information. Isn't A&M having half of the top 6 players in the nation relevant recruiting information? It bugs you this much to see it?
And if Texas fans are going to start throwing out terms like ' got', it probably shouldn't be the one who only uses 'selfies' in his avatar - particularly when the previous one featured disturbingly too-neatly trimmed facial hair. Texas fans do understand irony, yes?
well the last thing we would want in this ST site is any railroaded threads. can you imagine how that would dilute the integrity of ST ? after all, decorum has always been its highest priority.
Thank you for proving me right.
Now...can we get back to discussing recruiting?
I actually love seeing that, because it means Aggy's getting their hopes up before the inevitable![]()
This is one of the few that has always stayed pretty well focused...much like the prospect threads in the think tank. It's been that way since TFloss started doing them. He provides a lot of valuable information about prospects that is good for all fans of all schools to have...which is why I don't mind Aggie or Tech fan or anyone else chiming in with any information they have. Posts like your buddy Thompson made to gloat just reeks of leftover obsession and as I said earlier...there's a whole CS forum for bull like that.
Let's at least attempt to respect the work of TFloss and many other posters in this thread and try to keep it focused on recruiting.
Help us, TFloss. You're our only hope.
Three of the top 6 recruits in the nation is relevant - to Aggies, and to Texas fans, who have to deal with A&M's dominant recruiting recently. You may hate it, but it's relevant - as the Texas fan posting the exact same information seconds after me demonstrated. If it bothers you that much, scroll past it instead of taking up two pages griping about it - it will go by faster. And as for 'obsessions', I've seen dozens of threads denigrating A&M - I always see posters such as yourself on A&M threads trying to knock the school. Based on this site at least, the obsession appears to run stronger with Texas fans.
As to 'proving you right' about gloating - of course I was gloating. I'm sorry, that wasn't really a brilliant deduction on your part. It was also highly relevant recruiting information, as your own fan proved by posting the same thing right after me.
for the most part, yes the overall tone of the thread has been focused on recruiting (regardless of which team ultimately lands the player) but the thread also does have it's fair share of posters whose contribution to this thread has been sop ric at best. i think we all know who we take seriously and who we do not. there are plenty of texas backers here whose posts i thoroughly enjoy as well.
Fine. Here's your pat on the head and your sucker. Congrats on your Recruiting National Championship.
In 1998 Texas had the top defensive player in the nation and the top offensive player. They were Cory Redding and Chris Simms. Texas didn't win jack with them. good luck with this whole recruiting stuff, it takes more than great recruits from one class to be a champion.
Sop ric is a plane I hope to reach one day.
Of course - part of the reason it pleases me is that it is highly relevant to how we might do in the immediate future, with next year's recruits, and so forth.
The perceptions of the programs are highly relevant to future recruiting. I'm personally hoping we get Kyler Murray, as I've heard several favorable comparisons to Manziel. One class isn't going to win it for us, but I think most would acknowledge A&M is doing far better than expected only a couple years ago - and for now at least, that bodes well (for us) for the future.
