Bass is too short for my liking. How is his rebounding and defense? I really don't care if he can hit jumpers if he's not a good rebounder or defender.

People are gonna keep talking about JR because he's top talent, same tiers as Boris, with the right at ude/teams these guys would have been multiple time allstars... The talent level and the skillset are just too good not to pause...

JR Smith can turn us into the best smallball team in the league imo.

I would be incredibly pissed if we brought in JR Smith. I don't see it.

Its not like we are that far off. Houston, OKC and GSW probably all have better small ball rotations but were are certainly still a better team than two of those.

Smith would be like RJ. An athletic scorer who struggles to fit in with out the ball. Manu & Parker have the ball with Duncan getting touches in the post. If he can't shoot from outside (he can't seem to hit anything, anywhere this season) then he will struggle more so in San Antonio than in New York.

Bass is a blackhole. He never passes the ball, and we all know how important ball movement is in the Spurs offense.

If this trade goes down for JR Smith, which is still unlikely, the Spurs will keep trucking along. There is no room for headcases on the team and they don't tolerate nonsense as we saw with Jax getting cut last year. Pop has liked Smith for sometime but contract wise never was feasible. We have a lot of dead space with our rotation, bench guys who only get burn in Austin. I can see a trade happening for Smith as a wild card, see if he falls in line and if he is willing to forego his player option than by all means.

Demarre Carroll would be a great back up small forward. Good defensively, solid offensively doesnt get in the way. doesnt break the bank either.

Hey guys shh RC is shaking his head. He knows everything about this franchise better than anyone else does. Clearly better than all of us in this thread so let's stop posting and leave it to smart guys like benefactor here. Good on you, benefactor.

Yes we are, we get destroyed on the perimeter these days with 3 below average defenders being the main guards... The rockets had zero issue against us so far, same thing with OKC...

Adding a two way player who could start would change everything... What Raven said from the beginning is starting to ring true tbh...

I'm told Toney Douglas is headed to Boston in deal that will land the Warriors Jordan Crawford and Marshon Brooks. Yahoo! first.

The thing about twitter, if you follow the right people, they will in turn RT the rest

    Marcus Thompson @ThompsonScribe
Warriors acquire Jordan Crawford and MarShon Brooks in exchange for Toney Douglas and part of their TPE, according to sources

    Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
There is a third team involved in the Boston-Golden State deal that will likely provide Boston with a draft pick.

    Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA

Boston saves some cash -- about $1.7 million -- and GSW gets a bench upgrade w/o going into the tax or giving up a 1st-rounder.
