Saw these gifs on another forum. This was from the 3rd quarter, 2nd and 3 at the goal line.. Andrew Luck's reaction when the sideline radios in the play call of a Trent Richardson run up the middle.

Oh wow, hopefully next season we get to see how good " you, I'm calling my own plays now" Andrew Luck is. Manning was unleashed in year 3. Time to repeat history.

Manning sending the punt team back is still one of the more epic moments I can remember. Iirc he hit Wayne with a back shoulder throw for the first

And to think, not one but two different franchises wasted a 1st round pick on him.

He had a better lane going to the right if Luck would have thrown a block for him...which I think Luck would have been happy to do. But yeah no reason that doesn't gain 5-6 yards with literally any other player running the ball.

Tbh, if I'm calling plays, I'd rather Trent eats dirt than risk losing my franchise QB.

I don't think Luck would get a serious injury throwing a block. He's got the size and he's made some nice tackles on turnover plays.

Yeah, but freak accidents happen. I wouldn't want my team taking the chance, especially for Trent. If it was a RB I had some confidence to actually perform better than a random person pulled off the street, maybe. But still probably no.

Hey screw you! I would've ran for AT LEAST 3 yards on that play.

Yeah, no. When your center pulls left, you don't run right unless you are a LeSean McCoy type. Not sure Trent has the speed to get to the edge if he reverses field. The play is designed to go left all the way, including Luck rolling out right to draw the defense

Richardson isn't a LeSean McCoy type? Then wtf did we give up a 1st for?

I didn't mean he had to have that much talent. Was referring to running style. A cutback requires a running back with speed and lateral agility

You mean all RBs can't do the same things? Preposterous.

    K. You are the one that said trich should have cut back right, while the play is clearly dedicated to running left, and trich does not have the running style that would make that successful. Either you weren't aware of what you just posted, or you are now being stupid for the fun of it

Well, obviously going left didn't work out too well on that play. Perhaps paydirt was actually to the right instead.

Having a plodder reverse fields is likely going to result in a loss of yards. Going left was correct, he ed up when he hesitated. If he kept at full speed he should have picked up a solid 4-5 yards

I still think Andrew Luck could have blocked the out of that for Richardson. He's great at everything else, why not mix in blocking.

Im sure he can block but the defender would take the opportunity to get a free shot
