The Spurs chances to win a le have closed, thrown away by Manu last year. Their only hope is to develop Leonard but Pop is content having him play the Bowen role.

This continues to be a horrible take.

Like . It is a great take. You are just in denial.

It really is. How the can the le window be closed when we the Spurs just made the Finals last year and came 28 seconds from winning it all? It makes no sense, but these posters keep on trotting out this nonsense.

Because we were lucky last year, are a year older and slower, are piling on injuries like flies, and our compe ion has improved. Also, teams do not come back from a nut punch like that. Defeats of that order kill established "dynasty" franchises in every sport. Grow a brain. Window closed. Last season was a fluke any way.

no question about this but it's just not fair to ask a 37/38 year old player guard a very talented bigman in his prime.

shows just how the the spurs desperately need another bigman who can defend.

Players at age 37...Note....Duncan has played more games than some of these guys at the point of their careers

    Duncan - 14.6pts/7.5 rebs
    Olajawuon - 10.3pts/6.2 rebs
Malone - 23.2pts/8.3 rebs - Superhuman! Also shorter....
    Ewing - 15 pts/7.4 rebs
Barkley - Did not make it to age 37

There are 1st round draft picks in their 20`s who wish they could average what Duncan is still doing. To assume he would be Jordan at age 37 is a bit absurd. Remembering all the joy and happiness he gave your sorry asses the last 16 years deserves a little respect.

This continues to be a horrible take.
    This is an obvious fact.
Those who disagree with your assessment are the ones who are in denial, or just plain ignorant.

What made Duncan so deadly last year was how accurate his midrange jumper was. He doesn't seem to have the same consistency on it this year. He's going to have to hit that shot with more regularity if the Spurs are going to be able to compete with the best teams. Time for him to put in some work on his shooting during practice.

Don't forget most of these guys were still number options taking alll the shots at that age and never shared the ball the way Timmy does.

Timmy played HORRIBLE tonight, he couldn't even guard Aldridge. It's like LaMarcus playing with grandpa. We had a seven point lead and we were doing well, there was hope to win. And Jim brings hero ball Tony and grandpa and the lead went down.

Might as well enjoy all the games we can win because pizza face aka Pop and Mr. Alcoholic RC will never bring anyone to help. If they do, they'll be bench warmers. I feel bad for Manu because he did amazing tonight but Jim benched him in the 4th and brought Timmy/Tony back and saw the lead go away.

Pray that the basketball Gods can bring the Spurs the help we need or we'll be out in the first round.
It's one game. Chill the out.

For his age Timmy is having a great year. He will play even better in a few months in the playoffs.

Duncan couldn't stop Aldridge? It's a teamwork! What about team's awful effort on D backcourt?

Pop CANT coach the All Stars in consecutive years. It's not allowed, by NBA rule.

PG's don't win championships period, big men and forwards do, Duncan looks done and Leonard is set up for failure in this system. When the hits the fan you need someone to consistently get their shot, and it can't be some 6'2 PG because they're far too easy to guard, especially one with Parker's skill set.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/history/awards/_/id/43

Parker did win finals MVP (against Daniel Gibson lmao) however we all know he wasn't the best player on the team that year, it was Duncan. The only other recent time was Billups, and look at those stats. That was a combo of the Pistons lack of a scorer and Kobrick going into chuck mode. Even Kobe being MVP of those Laker teams is arguable with MvPau bailing his ass out.

Parker was the best player on the team last year, however I already listed a couple of reasons why SA was there in the first place.

Duncan's jumper will always be inconsistent because he's not a naturally great shooter like Dirk,West,Aldridge,Bosh. What separated Duncan from these guys career wise is his superior back to the basket game.

Not gonna lie. Duncan trying to guard Aldridge last night reminded me of David Robinson trying to guard Hakeem. Aldridge was just a bit too fast for Duncan, it was tough to see. No lie. There was a time when Duncan was that guy who was too much for the aging all time greats. Father time is undefeated.
