Spurs will be fine but the defense is going to be horrible the next 4-6 weeks tbh. Silver lining is this injury pushes the FO to add another wing defender.

I guess Pop will go with a Parker/Jospeh/Belinelli/Ayres/Duncan starting lineup with Manu playing backup SF minutes but Spurs will be so thin on the perimeter until about the ASG. It would be very welcomed if Joseph and/or De Colo could raise their level.

Fo is not going to address the SF SITUATION!!! They'll take these losses in jan/feb till we get green and splitter back, then forget about the whole situation.

I think Ayres has played some good ball, but he's being asked to do too much. He's a borderline backup PF and he's being thrown into the starter role.
Ayres is an overpaid, D-League quality player. He has trouble catching the damn ball. This might be excusable if he was a young player with upside but he's 26. Jim Boylens(a specialist in developing big men) has worked with him for years in Indiana and he still looks unimpressive.

I'm trying nothing but he is a relatively good player, better than most of the end of the bench NBA players.

Agree but the Spurs can survive Kawhi being out even without an increased role from Nando. I think the ship has sailed on him being a major contributor to the team for reasons not entirely in his control tbh.

Spurs will continue to beast on ty teams and continue to lose to quality ones regardless of how long Kawhi is out tbh.

Mbah a Moute can't shoot at all. More like, Bonner and De Colo for Marvin Williams. If a 2nd or something minor has to be thrown in, so be it.

They got exactly what they deserved. Refused to address a blatant weakness and one that was exacerbated by the fact that it involved defending the two players standing between them and a championship.

They were already going to blow it, but this pretty much seals any chance of holding off the Thunder for the one seed and that seals whatever minute chance they had at beating them in a series.
MaM's shooting isn't a big deal with the bench, especially in small ball. I think he'd be fine as the 10th man on a healthy team.

I agree not getting another SF was a mistake. They should have used the MLE on that and kept Neal instead of using flexibility on another two-guard. Or even just have signed Wes Johnson.

Splitter stubbed his toe, he's out for the season.. Okay, not very funny but it's become a joke of a season
What are the odds that Green and Leonard break fingers within a week plus of each other. Splitter gets the same injury CP3 has against the Clippers a couple of nights after he gets sidelined.

Ayers is inconsistent but shows potential to be a rotation player. It doesn't matter as much in the post season with Duncan, Splitter, Diaw and Leonard eating up most of the minutes. But yeah Bonner, De Colo, and even Joseph all seem to just filling a roster spot.

It is. They don't need an elite shooter, but they someone who, at minimum, is somewhat of a threat and he isn't.

I said the same thing during either the Warriors or Grizzlies series. Johnson wasn't passing up the opportunity to start/play major minutes with the Lakers, even for more money, but I get your point. They could have had someone of that ilk, but refused.

You'd think this news would lead to them doing something almost immediately and in the interim, at least playing Thomas some at SF, yet I have no confidence in them doing either. The front office loves having an imbalanced roster, that's ill suited for defending the best teams. For years, they needed size up front to combat the Lakers, so what did they do? Purposely build one of the smallest front lines in the league. This mockery of a wing/forward situation is the equivalent.

More like other midgets. Seriously....using guys like CoJo and Mills at SG and SF is a major downgrade of size from Green and Leonard. We're too damn short now. Parker-Belinelli-Ginobili-Mills-Joseph-De Colo...ugh....

We need another three in the worst way right now MY GOD this team is going to drop a few games now the next month or so based off this alone IMO. Down three starters sucks.
