Other than the homer posts you read on Lakersground and Clublakers, there is no debate.
Jordan transcended the game itself. Larry, Magic and Isiah laid the foundation, but he built the stage that players like Kobe, Duncan, Dirk and LeBron now enjoy. He won 6 championships and many more individual accolades, but he became bigger than that.
He may have his faults like being a chronic gambler and a chronic asswipe, but the way he popularized the game of basketball is unmatched.

Phil did make a great point though about MJ's hand size, which allowed him to get off some insane and ridiculous shots. Hopefully Kawhi can live up to that potential, now if Hero can just give him the ball....
