They made a good decision.
first letter back, this was obviously a longshot. 8 to go![]()
They made a good decision.
ouch, my pride...
Don't worry, I applied to plenty of other liberal schools. the lib s term was just out of spite for getting rejected.
Did you apply at Pepperdine? They have a pretty compe ive law school, as well.
i did. my sister is currently at Pepperdine law as well. i'm fairly confident i'll get in there. applied to stanford and berkeley as total longshots just because why not. my realistic hope is to continue at UCLA, though I wouldn't be opposed to jumping ship and going to USC either. applied to a few others, all in state.
All good schools. I had a friend who did both Berkley and Pepperdine. She transferred to be closer to L.A. due to her mom being ill with the big C. In our talks, she had expressed the curriculum wasn't all that much different between the two schools. She worked as a patent lawyer for a few years before starting a family.
Patent law is actually something I'm looking into, since i'm going to be graduating as a biochem major. for the past year, during my breaks from school i've worked full time at a local intellectual property firm. while not exactly patent law, it was a really cool gig and something i'm going to be looking into. as for what school I end up at, i'm not going to fret. a good friend of mine is at southwestern law and just finished his first semester top 10% of his class, and is eligible to transfer somewhere like UCLA because of it.
it's all good man.. you'll make it in another school
i know, i wasn't really expecting to get into berkeley. just wanted an opportunity to get raiders season tix
on a side note, i wonder how many of the forum's residenet superliberal posters are angrily storming into this thread because of the le![]()
I'm liberal mostly...but of late, I've been leaning more moderate than super![]()
Law school? son, you're doing it all wrong.
http://utsa.edu/ilpa/
How much money would you make if you get a law degree there? More than Saul Goodman in a strip center?![]()
I'm more conservative than most at ucla which isn't saying much because it's a bunch of s that get their political news from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I'm certainly not a GOP guy but don't really consider myself a leftist either
Are you a white male? That would hurt your chances.
That sucks. Good for you for going to law school though.....while I hate most lawyers, it's pretty much out of jealousy.
How does one make the jump from biochem to law? I know Law School doesn't require a specific undergrad degree but I'm talking about you personally. That's a big jump tbh.
It's also pretty impressive sounding. Biochem and then law school.
Far more impressive than my degree.
Have to get accepted somewhere first. But thanks.
Im armenian so I try to spin that as middle eastern when appropriate
Tbh law school was my plan and my goal since I was in high school. It just so happened that my strongest classes at the time were chem/math/physics, and I wanted to take advantage of that. so there was a time I was consideration med/pharm school just for that even though I never had the passion/desire for that field. Still I wanted to take advantage of what i was good at. A couple of years in I made the commitment to law school so I took the LSAT and have worked at a couple of local firms.
A big big possibility with a science background is Patent law which deals with pharmaceuticals and . It actually requires a more science based patent bar exam as well as a B.S. rather than the more common B.A.
You should have told them the truth about being a ...and presto!!! You're in...
Makes sense that you would take advantage of that, plus like johnsmith said it makes for a really nice looking resume. Good luck .![]()
I thought you wanted to be a doctor but now law school, damn.....i'm sure you'll get in. Looks like Political Forum will be getting even more verbose though.
btw tell them you're Armenian and not white, that should help.
It was complicated. I also wasn't exactly top of my class with a 4.0 either. Don't want to sound like I'm making myself out to be smarter than I am. I did rock the LSAT though so I'm still hopeful to get into a good school just maybe not top 10 like Cal or Stanford
You do realize that if you weren't a lazy you could write your own ticket into any school right? Black and broke is the new 4.0
Shame he's not black then.
