Goodnight
![]()
So the last few weeks I've been working 75+ hours (13-14 hours every weekday and 10 or so hours over the weekend) and that wouldn't be a big deal except since I've gotten busy as at work I haven't been able to sleep at all.
Typically I'll get home around 9:30 and be in bed by 10 with my alarm set for 5. I end up not being able to fall asleep until midnight, I wake up at 3, try to go back to sleep, and by the time I do it's already time for me to get up. Has anyone else had this issue when they've been busy as with work? Any advise for this? I've tried everything from taking melatonin to going completely without caffeine for a few days.
melatonin doesnt do crap for me, but ZZZquil is actually surprisingly good. Problem is you will probably build up a tolerance pretty quickly.
That Zzz Quil worked fine the first two weeks then you start to drink 1/4 a bottle so I switched to the purple gel caps put a heating pad under my back and turn on a do entary or relaxing YouTube video.

A heating pad for my back sounds like a great idea actually. I'll have to look into that. My problem with stuff like ZZZquil is it knocks me out cold for 10 hours and I only have time to sleep for 6-7 hours.
I might stop being jewish and invest in a new, top of the line mattress, only reason I haven't yet is because I hate buying that's hard to move when I basically move once a year. My old one is a piece of and is probably contributing to this problem.
Drink one of these....
eat one of theses
and listen to this....
There are some yogic breathing techniques that can help you relax enough to fall asleep.
Got med insurance?
Highly rec a sleep study but only at a good joint.
With a great dr. to correctly read the results.
Benadryl works for me
benadryl used to be my go-to sleep aid, but it's another thing that knocks me out cold for 10 hours when don't have that kind of time
If all else fails you can always put yourself to sleep fast by reading some topics on this site

ZZZQuil is ok but it makes me wired out and sleepy at the same time, so I wake up every 15 minutes ready to kill someone.
You need more time than 30m after work to go to sleep. You need to wind down. Try staying up an hour later, you'll probably sleep better and longer. I have a fan that I run all the time when I am sleeping, all year round. The noise keeps me from being woken up by random .
A little pussy every now and then won't kill you.
lol bitter asian male
lol naruto
What are you doing all day at work? If you're able, mixing in some strenuous physical activity, 30 minutes to an hour could help your body feel more tired when it's time to go to sleep.
I'm sitting at a desk
I think the exercise thing could be the problem. I was working out 6x a week when I was working normal hours, but that's stopped because I don't have the time. I need to find a way to work it back in though.
Yeah man, that's your problem, you're restless when trying to go to sleep cause you're body has already been at rest all day
You need to hang out with my main FNC for just one night. He parties with es and chugs moderately priced whiskey and sleeps fine.

Makes sense. I need to just make it the first thing I do when I get home from work.
Yes, definitely agree with that, here's two more than will seal the deal..

that won't work
I think, just as Jeebus pointed out, that if you have something else other than your old cold lifeless pillow to hug and kiss while sleeping, you'd probably be able to sleep much better imho. Insomnia doesn't really have anything to do with heavy workload imho, actually busyness would only work in your favor combating insomnia if anything. Like that elder cousin of mine who's about 5'9 but weighs at least 300 pounds, he's often tired as after work and sleeping has never been a problem to him. And I think 6-7 hours of sleep is enough for a young guy, only a dog and a need to sleep 8 hours or more imho.
Melatonin works for me , but holy , those vivid nightmares
