Well, there is accounting for the $90,000,000 Maggette made in his career, most of it in LA with all the extra money that implies.
Sure, but I was using him as one example. The point is, I do believe for a decently large segment of players, that playing for the Spurs for equal money earlier would lead to more money longer term. Especially for the guys who aren't getting endorsements.
I think the Spurs influenced the CBA enough where it might be easier, but conversely do lower overall salaries make endorsement potential more important?

Good post. The spurs since their last le have not gotten enough talent to surround Duncan and Parker.
They did the same thing when they had Robinson/Duncan. They didn't bring in enough talent to take out the Lakers during their back to back to back le runs.
This is why considering all that factors, whinny spoiled spurs fans should be killed slowly... Spoiled kids are the worst specimen on earth.
after Duncan era gonna suck, I think San Antonio is solid enough to keep a compe ive team but we have tough years ahead... Only positive the spoiled kids will probably leave the boat quick...

We're still a top NBA team as our record states. However we apparently are a little bit short of being a champuonship caliber team due to lack of star power and injuries. Its going to be a loooooong time until we see anither championship banner hoisted.

In saying that, you indicate a lack of awareness of what is important to the majority of professional basketball players, most of whom are gazillionaires who love to party and be in celebrity situations, i.e. South Beach, New York, Los Angeles, etc. etc. etc. It is unusual to have the talent that we have here who are willing to live in a town with a small-town airport, socially conservative fan base, and relatively small payroll.

tbh the season after Tim and Manu retire and we only have Tiago on the books, the Spurs will suck big time. that one season will weed out the ty fans hopefully. if the site is even around by then imo.

Front office made the right choice in selecting Tim in the draft. Manu and Tony were diamonds in the draft but they didn't suspect they'd be that good when they were drafted. Outside of that they've been under s ing bringing anyone else that can help the team outside of anniche role while depending heavily on 4 down, tony and Manu.

i probably won't post as much but I also think it will be more relaxed. It sounds stupid but I just wanted to see Tim go out triumphantly, obviously the last Finals was like a high heel stepping on my scrotum, but I think once Duncan rides off into the sunset, some of the drama and desperation will die down, I hope anyways.
