    Tbh? Food for thought.

He's an UFA after this year & there' a good chance he doesn't re-sign with the team that's been trying to trade him for 3 seasons now, and I wouldn't either cause the Lakers are terrible, with or without Kobe, and will be for a while. He's already been quoted as saying he's going to explore his options this offseason and see what's on the table. There's only a couple of other contenders that would make sense for him.

The Spurs make by far the most sense for a guy who will be 34 at the start of next season. He'd fit seamlessly with this club. His ability to shoot, post up, PnR, and pass out of the block would fit perfectly, and he could further alleviate Duncan's minutes and responsibilities. Definitely the type of high character dude who the Spurs FO would look for. He'll be a hot commodity but the Spurs seem like the best fit imo.

Main issue is he'd have to take a pay cut. Spurs will have about $7 million in cap room after this season, as long as Parker's partially guaranteed deal is picked up & Duncan accepts his player option as expected. And as long as we don't pick up any contracts via trade. We could create more cap space if we were to trade someone like Danny Green. That'd put us at about $11 million p/. Might be enough to entice him.

I think that Pau Gasol would be a great fit for the Spurs.

Gasol would be a great offensive fit and I could definitely see him joining the Spurs, but they would desperately need more athleticism on the wings other than Leonard and Green, tbh..

Would only make sense if Tim is coming off the bench which I don't see happening, they can't really coexist at this point, they're pure centers... And Gasol is certainly not gonna sign with the Spurs to come off the bench...

We need to go after guys like Hayward, Stephenson, Monroe....not old farts.
If we have nobody on the team going into the summer of 2015 how the will we have a shot at attracting someone like Love or Aldridge.

Love and Aldridge are never coming here regardless of whether or not the spurs have cap space. All-stars don't sign with small market teams in free agency.

The Spurs won't have any significant cap space next offseason unless they renounce Boris' cap hold. If I had to choose between Diaw and Gasol, there is no doubt that I would go for Boris everytime.

We can hope. He's a guy that had delivered in the biggest of stages. He and Duncan can't share the floor.

He's going to want more than the Spurs will be able to afford. Wouldn't mind him though - smart player. Pop would probably maximize his effectiveness in the post-season with proper minute management too.

Would like Dirk over him but that most likely not even close to ever happening but I wouldn't mind at all Paul Gasol as a second choice. I think Both would be a perfect fit for Duncan.

I can't see Gasol and Tim sharing the floor; one or the other would get destroyed in the PnR every possession. That means one would have to come off the bench, and I can't see either accepting that.

Yea that'd be another issue. I don't see either willing to come off the bench. Would be the ultimate sacrifice tbh.

Pau won't come to SA. If he leaves, he'll end up in NY, Miami or Boston.

Gasol is not an option next season unless he takes a huge pay cut. And I don't see him doing that for the Spurs. Maybe for the Thunder or the Heat if he wants to win one more le. If not, I bet he goes to the Grizzlies and finishes his career where he started it along with his brother. I guess he could chase money, but his value is diminishing quickly in L.A.
