I use H.E.B. all the time. Sure beats Walmart its' nearest compe or.
I've lived all over the United States and I firmly believe HEB is the hands down best. Especially the HEB plus stores.
HEB has the best prices on most things and their meat is pretty good, which is why I go there mostly. The only thing they really suck on is cereal, where Wal-Mart is way cheaper.
just a matter of time for it to get bought up by wal-mart though.

HEB really knows what I like. It's hands down the best "non-niche" grocery store I've ever shopped. I don't know if it still exists but when I lived in the Northwest there was a chain called Top Foods that was probably the best I've ever experienced. And when I lived down South I loved Publix.
Do you buy HEB store brand cereal? I've been very impressed with every one I have tried. Plus HEB has taken those weird sized cereal boxes and made them just a smidge smaller---the cabinet door closes completely! I love that.
The HEB multigrain cereal is quite good imo. I only eat that and knockoff Cheerios for cereal.
The closest one to me doesn't have Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. ers. Their store brand Cheerios are some good stuff though. Even on her pickiest days my daughter will wolf down a bowl of those in a heartbeat. These days we meal plan a little more meticulously but a few years ago we'd just plan out a few dinners and if we couldn't come up with any more ideas just say, " it, we'll get whatever the Combo Loco is."
I thought their Frosted Flakes clone was horrible, and I wasn't impressed with their version of Honey Bunches of Oats. Which ones have you been impressed by? After those two I wrote off their cereals.
