He's a good offensive player and a good defender, but he's not an elite scorer. At least not right now. People were comparing him to T-Mac and Kobe and what not at the beginning of the season and called him an MVP, but they never gave his supporting cast any credit. If he put up the same numbers on a middle of the pack team, no one would even talk about him.
Of course he isn't. I don't know what s have been spinning it that way. I hate the word "Superstar" too. It sounds so forced. Only Durant/Lebron are CLEAR superstars.

Tbh this thread has held up for a while now...I check boxscores of every NBA Game I didn't watch daily and PG always has 12-20 points on medicore efficiency, he's barely playing at an all-star level right now, if Hibbert and West didn't pick up the slack the Pacers would be freefalling right now, tbh. Can't depend on PG's production night in night out.

he wasn't exactly a model of efficiency last year either when he broke out. his value comes in his 2-way play. he's an above average offensive player probably in a role too big for him at the moment (though he could obviously still make improvements and get there).

After that third quarter last night, Durbeta is still the manufactured superstar.....If that was Durbeta, he'd have 30 points on 4-21 shooting because of all the ref foodstamps, yet PG is the "manufactured" one
