Jerry Jones killed the NFL for me, tbh. Really the only reason I watch is to kill sunday free time.
i'm a ing raider fan and i found the NFL season as a whole to be enjoyable. we just saw a dude shatter passing records. that alone makes the season worthwhile. the chiefs outdoing anybody's expectations, Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy playing great. the AFC as a whole had a year, but there was some good football to be enojoyed

Those aren't upsets at all. It's not spread out. The reason you see those things is because there is not enough talent to establish dominant teams. When most teams are average, they can all beat each other any given day. Most of the upsets you listed are just a bunch of terrible to average teams losing.
It also sucks that there were so many games decided by refs, especially Panthers-Pats and a few other egregious examples, tbh..
Many analysts said this season had the worst officiating they have seen in a while, tbh..
Most fans can root for a le because the league kind of sucks tbh..If you like "parity" ok, but I rather watch high quality levels of play. Not a crappy version where everyone is crappy so they all have a pretty equal chance.
Maybe Philly but the Seahawks, Broncos, Saints, and Patriots are terrible to average?![]()
Im not on the team. If I was, we'd be hoisting the trophy right now while being interviewed by Madden as your mother fellatiod me live on Fox.
Yeah you are right it was horrible just a few years ago! They sent a below .500 team to the playoffs I believe on year? Division winner! Or was it 8-8? Either or you are right that division went from horrible to having the two best teams in football this year.
Well, what can we do? The team was solid, everyone on the defense decided to die in the last 6 games of the season. I know the chances look horrible, and this is one of the worst days ever for sports for me, but its part of being a fan.
tbh this game was terrible and hopefully not a prelude of what's to come in the NFL. We've honestly been spoiled with a ridiculous run of great SB's that it was almost unheard of for a game of this magnitude to be this bad. I'll admit to falling into the vortex of NFL Redzone and the accompanying ADHD it fosters, but I still love it. Love the betting, love fantasy, love Sundays. The only thing that's disillusioned me is that I can't remember how it felt to be excited about my own team.
atleast we agree that Philly was fool's gold
I still remember a lot of people (not just on here) that got all excited because they demolished the Bears on Sunday Night. I remeber one sportswriter even called them one of the most explosive offenses he'd ever seen
then they followed up with a 'meh' performance in Dallas and were one and done after that
It really is amazing that in a league with such unrivaled parity, the Bills are the turd that won't flush.
smgdh
That's what I'm talking about. Teams weren't winning because of consistent high level play. It was who could screw up less outside of about 3 teams. To me, it is not that much fun. I'll still watch for the great moments, but as a whole, the product is meh to me.
This game was a step in the right direction. Cam, Dalton and Kaep not getting more than $14 Million a year would be another. I will get tired of football if QBs continue to be portrayed as pitchers. The win tonight reinforced football as a team game. One of the most complete-team victories I've ever seen.
I agree with this. My big fear as I said at my SB party is Kaep getting overpaid. Of course everyone was like "You have to pay him, you'll be nothing without him" but I think what has hurt the league is two things. First, they try to make it more pass happy yet there isn't enough supply to meet the demand for a pass happy league. Hence you have a lot of hacks getting overpaid. You and me are in agreement that Manning is worth the money, but tonight is what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket. Seattle was more dominant in all aspects.
Second problem with the league is the rulebook is out of control. If a company man like Mike Perreira says it's way too confusing from the refs he still talks with, then it's a serious problem.
I've always enjoyed basketball more than football anyways but I do think the NFL has some serious issues despite the reports of record profitability imo.
......something said when their team is getting a thorough ass whippin'
Tbh the AFC/NFC championship weekend has always been where its at. Better games, less hype, less halftime.
Let us know when you're tired of spanking it to video's of Ghazi's wife getting cuckolded, kthxbai
DPG brings up a point that always amazes me... we can't get 30 competent QBs in the NFL. Amazing given how many people there are in the US that would fit the relevant categories. Shows how tough that position is to play.
Forgot to mention, there's not really "parity". Look at who has represented the AFC the past few years... Colts, Pats, Broncos, Ravens, etc etc, most of them have been in the running for awhile now. It's not like the Browns are going from 2-14 to SB winners. It's not complete parity... any given Sunday rule holds, but overall, the teams tend to maintain certain records (barring injuries, good young QBs drafted, etc etc).
As far as pro sports goes, nothing compares to the NFL. It's absolutely perfect.
Front Office personnel is the reason there aren't more good teams.
Nope!
The fact is there simply aren't 32 great QB's in any one era.
