Cannot be worst than 2013 Broncos
No, this isn't a Manning/Brady debate. This 2013 Broncos were compared to the 2007 Patriots because both were absolute offensive juggernauts, with both QBs obviously deserving their MVPs. The Patriots were just demolishing teams, proving this team wasn't only about cheating.
The 2007 Patriots I consider to be an overall much better team. So close (but no cigar) to a perfect season. They were ranked no.1 in offense (both in points and yards) and ranked no. 4 in defense (once again for points and yards). Yet despite that, they could only muster 14 points against the Giants, who were ranked no. 14 in offense and no. 17 in defense. Prefaced by one of the great moments in Brady baggery.
Brady got pressured all game and shat the bed. So did Manning, though Manning's stats were worse.
This 2013 Broncos was no. 1 in offense and 22 in defense. Broncos also had the honor of being the first team ever to not get a single turnover in three playoff games this year. Not a good stat tbh.
So while Broncos got their pushed so far they'll be coughing out , how would that 2007 Pats team do?
Imo, they would've gotten skull ed as well and they're the best AFC team in awhile. If they could only muster 14 points against the Giants, I don't think this Seahawks would've been any easier. Seahawks' D was no. 1 in points, no. 1 in yards and no.1 in turnovers.
Not to mention Wilson was throwing some strikes out there.
My overall point is this Seahawks team was amazing and brutal, deserving all the credit for this year, and I can't think of any AFC team that would've made much of a difference imo. I think even that 2007 Pats team would've gotten beat down much worse than what the Giants did to them.
But curious how others think that Pats team or any recent AFC team would've fared.
Exit question: Where does that opening safety/turnover rank in all time worst opening plays for a SB?Broncos essentially had to kick it off for both halves.
lol "i'm not trying to talk more re ed about Brady, but excuse me as i talk more re ed about Brady."
Broncos were getting destroyed at virtually every position.
2013 Seahawks > 2007 Giants
2007 Pats get ass handed to them
I have a flu, my editing skills are off. Probably too long winded.
Actually not talking much about Brady. I'm saying they were the most dominant AFC team that I remember. I'm just thinking which recent AFC team would've given this Seahawks a run for the money.
"why are pats fans so obsessed and salty about Peyton???! oh btw here's a book I wrote about how bad Brady and the Pats would get their ass beat in a hypothetical game"
IIRC, the Pats were HEAVILY favored in 2007. I think the Broncos were only favored by 2, and that line had flipflopped a couple of times. The Seahawks weren't some flukish wildcard team.
I think it would have been a close game, the 2007 Pats were running on fumes by the time they played NYG.
They wouldn't have rolled over like a dead animal the way Denver did though![]()
There's no way a Belichick coached team would have been as unprepared as the Broncos were last night, tbh..
The Seahawks are a decent team, they're nothing special, tbh..they beat a team with John Fox at coach and Playoff Manning at QB, with an abundance/historic amount of injuries..
I referenced 2007 Pats because they were the most dominant AFC team I recall yet only got 14. I said any AFC team of this year or past several years. Your Brady semen shield is being activated for no reason.
rofl says the one drenched in protecting Peyton today from "obsessed meanie Pats fans
"
Biggest ?: How would the 2013 Panthers have faired in a rematch? The Seahawks were great this year.. but they aren't one of the greatest in history.. their run defense is not that great (as shown in games this year)... won the SB.. best team.. most consistent.. but one of the greatest in history? i'll pass..
They probably wouldn't have given up that safety and kick return td. But, if you put enough pressure on any pocket qb, you can make them look pretty bad.
I actually lol'ed at this post, only for the pure pre-pubescent baggery of it.
Are you still a Jets fan?
I already said he shat the bed, no spinning here. I just knew you bradyslurpers would fill this forum with your vaginal discharges after the SB. It's okay, these obsessions with Manning's legacy are to be expected.
Well they were infinitely worse in their rematch against the Niners (and played this time at home, too), so I'm not really sure what you're getting at here. Pretty safe to assume Seattle would've pounded Carolina...probably 27-3 or something.
Belichick is an amazing coach and no way would've been embarrassed like Fox in that game. Agree about them running on fumes, but had they run on fumes against the Seahawks, it could have gotten more ugly than the Giants game.
uggh, unfortunately
I just think all the focus on Manning's "choke" doesn't give credit to how dominant the Seahawks were.
What killed the Pats against the Giants was their interior pass rush with Justin Tuck. The Seahawks had a good pass rush but nothing like that NASCAR package NYG used on every key passing down.
and even with that pass rush Brady wasn't throwing it to the other team and digging the Pats a hole. It was just a perfect defensive game plan, a la Belichick's D against Buffalo in SB XXV.
I don't know -- it's pretty close. But, the db's for Seattle are definitely better.
