Odom was a borderline all-star before he joined the Lakers, he actually only had one above average season with the Lakers.. His drug problem had nothing to do with the Lakers. In fact, it got worse in LA and made him so high he married one of the Kardarsians, and then went berserk now.

As for Butler ... believe in himself? What the is that? You watched too many chick flicks or what? Butler had been consistent throughout his entire career. He didn't become significantly better or worse since his Laker days. The only thing he got was that he shot better from the field because Kobe attracted the defense and opened him up ... oh, wait, scratch that didn't happen. Kobe didn't attract defense to open up things for Butler, he had no effect.

As for Sasha, Jackson and MVPau turned him into a champ. Lakers without MVPau, 1st round exit, Lakers with Pau, 2 time champ.
