league's best PG pointing his team to a home defeat at the hands of the Bulls and TOSB hinrich![]()
Even MVP's lose.
Goran = GOAT, future 10-time Finals MVP.
Suns suck balls against teams that play the slow-it-down, slug-it-out style. Memphis and Chicago are 5-0 against Phoenix.
Doesn't bode well for their chances in the playoffs when the game slows down. Could explain why McD is looking at Gasol.
Someone needs to put a boot up your ass, among other things.
I'm not in the mood, old man.
Fine. I'll leave ya be.
Night, fellows.
PG-led teams, even as good as the monkeyball, will always have a hard time getting past the 2nd round imho, never mind making the NBA finals.
Yeah that's right Stockton
He was the Alpha Male, not that git choker Malone
Well the Suns weren't expected to crack 20 games this year, so I'll live with a first round exit.
last PG-led team that made the NBA finals was the 03' Nets imho. TP and Chauncey won the finals MVPs but I'd never think of them as leaders of their teams. Spurs has always been led by that man from Virgin Island since 97, while the 04' Pistons featured an exact archetype of system ball where the was no real leader. Chauncey won the trophy for being the best performer of that series and the same goes for the 07' parker, but it ain't having to do with leadership imho.
Plus, the "PG-led team" theory was initially introduced by a genius Jewish economist known as DoK on spurstalk, not a theory of mine like the "the seasonal variation of sunlight intensity" theory.
PG-led teams historically not being able to get over the hump makes me wonder why Isiah Thomas is such an underrated and rarely mentioned player when discussing the greatest
That Pistons squad had the following
League's best defense
Thugs to rough up opposing players
Hustle & Rebounds
Good shooters
and most importantly an elite defender in Dumars
This is a good point. It is quite clear several Suns players struggle with physical play and get out of rhythm - Frye and Green especially.
Not sure if getting Gasol will improve the toughness
As for Dragic - realistically speaking Paul and Parker are still better but that may change in the near future.
Not sure how I would rank Curry - he is a media darling but I think Dragic is slowly getting better.
gasol cant bring toughness to the care bears tbh..
I've always liked Dragic even back then when he was still backing up Nash in Phoenix.
destroying Sasha Vujacic in Game 6 of the 2010 WCF
Those guys had stacked rosters and great scoring options. Magic and Isiah had a ton of help and Stockton had Malone. You can add GP to that mix as well.
In today's era, PG-led teams are no longer that great, any PG-led team is going to struggle against Miami, as it was evident in the 2011 ECF and 2013 Finals, Miami has arguably the best defense in the league when it comes to perimeter defense.
It is mind boggling that the Suns are this good... Vegas had their win total at around 18...
Come on, if Goran gets at least 5-times Finals MVP, that would be already a nice acheivement
& you guys drafted him. He's arguably a worse decision by your people than Scola.
...I still have them at O & 46!
