5 games to robdiaz = A statistically significant sample with which to judge an entire player's career.

Except, you know, the fact that Patty was 24 last year. Hardly old enough to be so harsh on a player. Dude has game, that's plain to see. If he's so bad why aren't the other players on the Spurs going for 32 when our starters go down?

You're just pissed because you're feeling a massive quan y of cognitive dissonance after calling Mills out for being a horrible player and now you have to stick to that story or admit you're wrong, which you won't do unless you have no other option.

How many Spurs in recent memory aside from the big 3 have scored 30+ in ANY game? But yeah, it's against a bad team so it means the W that gives us a full game closer to OKC after their loss last night matters less. lol
Marco dropped 32 in a L to the Knicks. I will gladly eat a sandwich if he has good games against the Clippers and Portland. And maybe 5 games isn't a significant amount but then again what are you judging him on? His performances these last 3 games against eastern conference scrubs?

Parker should rest these next couple of games.
Parker should go home for the rest of the road trip and rest. The guy has not had a break since last season and it shows. Skip the ASG due to injury.

what does his salary have to do with him being garbage?
He's not garbage at all. And yes the salary is relevant to assess expectations about a player. Patty Mills is the 345th salary in the league, so I guess we can say he's contributing more than expected for his salary. He's a good bench player and we can all be glad to have him on the team so stop ing about him, especially on a night where he saved our asses.

And a little off topic (but salary related) : for all the TP haters, he has the 38th salary of the league so it's safe to say he hasn't superstar salary at all, and could have received more money elsewhere. Doing so, he's allowing the team to stay compe ive through the years. Here's a look of who's in front of him, salary wise, I think it speaks for itself :

1 Kobe Bryant, SG Los Angeles Lakers $30,453,805
2 Dirk Nowitzki, PF Dallas Mavericks $22,721,381

Tony is way underpaid compared to some! Good post there. He is underpaid and one of the better players in the league so nobody should be complaining about Tony at all.

I FULLY agree skip that damn ASG no doubt! Rest of road trip though? NO. Just rest him form now till after the ASG and then on some back to backs, he should be alright then.

Nice post. That puts TP's optimum play in perspective. When he's at his best, he really is very underpaid.

Can we name 10 backup PGs that are better than Mills? Nevermind that this is his first year with any serious burn and him showing consistent improvement throughout.

Yeah I guess his doesn't expire until after the season is over. His may be the worst contract ever. There are a lot of bad NBA front offices.
