lefty jeebus how many games before Enrique gets jealous and plays hero ball to prove a point?
if his vagina is still sore, after the ASB. if not, then definitely in the game against Rondo.

Mills is a good option at backup for Tony. More dynamic offensive player than Neal was, and better ballhandler too. Similar or slightly better as a defender (gets a few more hustle plays at least). When we're healthy, I think he fits very well with Manu, Marco, and Diaw to make a very strong offensive unit that can provide a good change-of-pace from the starters.
Well said man. He's like a Jacque Vaughan with the hustle plays and 50/50 balls with a whole lot more offensive talent. Not a true PG as we know, but he was definitely on a roll last night. Nice to see Pop finally not taking out a role player who is playing well just to give his scrubmates playing time. Charlotte didn't know WHAT to do with Patty, and his decisions were so quick it made him all the more difficult to guard.

Patty's ceiling may be higher than anyone previously thought. We really don't know what he is capable of. He has molded his game to fit around other playmakers which means he is scorer first, second, and mostly third. Right now thanks to Pop finally giving him the opportunity, he is pretty much showing everyone he is essentially "Parker lite" back at a similar point in Parker's career. Both use(d) similar styles to score, except Parker was a much more powerful finisher in the lane while Mills is already a better shooter with longer range.

But as we know, Parker's point guard skills didn't fully mature until just recently (and unfortunately his age/body is now the biggest obstacle). Parker added a solid midrange J to his game about midway through his career and then as an afterthought seemed to finally focus on polishing up on his playmaking skills later on. Finally even adding a 3ball to his repertoire last season which may end up extending his career a few years. Patty's progression will be essentially the opposite. He has the shot, he just needs to work on becoming a more rounded scorer. Shouldn't be too difficult as he has one of the best finishers ever to mentor him.

RC Buford resigned Matt Bonner to 3.5M a year... If he doesn't resign Mills, no homer can make up excuses for him

    @CHA Patty Mills: 32pts, 7rebs, 4asts, 10-13FG, 4-5 3pts, 8-9FT

Makes you wonder what would've happened if Pop gave this guy minutes last year vs Miami

we can wonder, but I honestly don't think he was ready last year. He did so much to improve his game during the offseason that Patty this year is a FAR better Patty than last year. Plus, against Miami, his height(or lack of it) would really have been a factor.

But for sure, we need to keep him as a no.1 backup for TP.. He has more than earned that.

    Speedy Claxton?

He hit a couple of jumpers in the 03 Finals when Tony flamed out. Like SJax, he figured he was worth way more than the Spurs offered him, and probably figured his tiny Finals points merited him as starting PG.

He disappeared after he left the Spurs, and got waived out of the league 4 years ago at age 31.

But he's some kind of amazing PG to many Spurs fans.

Parker won't rest during the ASG but it's not like he's going to be playing any real minutes. The ASG is his reward for carrying the team. There's no way in he would skip it.

Mills isn't a great passer, maybe due to lack of court vision... I don't know. I don't know of any other system that needs an undersized shooting guard. I'm sure he could find work, but the situation in SA is why he appears to be as "good" as he does.

The Lakers might want him though, he's got the energy they need to play the SSOL and they won't be any good until they actually decide to run that or get rid of Mike D.

Insinuating that Patty Mills would have been the piece to put San Antonio over the top in winning a ring against Miami??? This is so good it has to be fattening. Why does Bruno allow you to make threads? You are an idiot in the worst ways. Your takes are .

Decent point that hardly anyone here seems to consider. I guess the minimum salary guy is the guy that needs to show up for us to win those games, not everyone else on the team that is getting paid more money. Patty Mills has to be the one that shows up and go off against all the elite teams .

In the reg season, against bad teams.
I hope you're willing to eat humble pie if he gets PT in the postseason and burns it up. He has been known to light it up on the big stage before you know....

for couple decades now, EVERYBODY rests during the ASG. It's a joke.

the real risk to rest is the ASG night life.

People like Tony enjoy the night life regardless. They probably don't hang with the team that much.

Parkers rookie season he would get into paint with ease but always pass the ball out .

His 2nd season he would get into the paint and had the "tear drop floater" from about five feet out.

Over he years he developed a variety of spins reverses, and change of pace to get his lay ups. The spurs have developed him to the oint where the tear drop is no longer necessary in his game.

One thing about mills is that he is one of the top 5 fastest players in the league ..just as fast as a young Parker.

He can flat out shoot the ball as good as any PG in the L so if he sticks and the spurs can develop his scoring in the paint then watch out.

TP was never a PG to begin with but he became one with us....Mills has that same Moxy. We better keep him

Well it was a Monday. And Monday's are Nando's & Cojo's day to get the most minutes. Tuesday is Patty's day, Wednesday is Shannon Brown's. But only if its cloudy and overcast.

I felt like if Pop wanted to send a message to him of "don't stay too y kid you're not that good" or maybe he displayed too much swagger after Charlotte... dunno what to think
