When the Mamba tore his Achilles, I saw the writing on the wall and retired from the Kobe vs. Duncan debate soon after, a debate that makes little sense in the 1st place since they play two different positions. Comparing bigs to wings makes about as much sense as comparing a pitcher to a first basemen.
Maybe if Kobe comes back next season and puts in a good season, Kobe hating will get new life, but aside from the fact he's gay, there's nothing to talk about concerning him. He's totally irrelevant.
And Laker hating is dead for the time being because they are tanking, so we can't even give their fans when they lose. For the Lakers (and their fans) to regain their top villain spot on ST, Kobe needs to return with a strong season, and the team needs to draft a lottery pick and sign Melo (an overrated prima donna), who will make the Lakers beyond hyped in the media.
Until then, end of an end (for now).
You give up too easily. There is, and will be for the foreseeable future (read: until Dale croaks), plenty to laugh about when it comes to the Lakers. They signed the most tired bag in the league with 1/2 their cap, they've got a cokehead owner, they're about to again take a on a player that brought them rings, their fanbase is a gang of refried-bean-loving illegals, and they're stuck with Coach Mike and Nashy until the end of next year.
