this thread visibly shook Koon Bob...he's trying to get me to post in his thread but I'm much too clever for his primitive simian brain.

Good man here...not deflecting or hiding the truth. 6 must've felt like a hometown 9/11
For sure. That and Duncan punching the floor in Game 7 were heartbreaking. I'm still pretty sour towards Pop, Parker, and Manu for those two games cause Duncan played his ass off.

I myself was at a bar and hadn't drank any alcohol but the instant change in levels of emotion was enough to give me a hangover and a heart attack the same time. Ol' sports So close

this. I appreciate what all have done, even Enrique, but they owe more to Duncan than the other way around and all 3 let him down. That post 7 interview with Duncan was brutal, and I think that's when it hit me. I didn't give up hope after 6, even though I knew it was a longshot. Spurs almost pulled off a miracle win in 7, but in the end it was the tiest loss in terms of sports personally. James Roday from Pysch is a SA native and hardcore Spur fan and said he lost a year off his life from that series. Sounds about right.

Am I feature in there? I forget. I think I didn't even watch the second half because I was a nervous wreck. I saved myself the pain of actually watching Spurs lead and then lose the game live.

anybody who said it didn't bother them would be lying through their ing teeth.

i dont know any spurfans outside of ST, and it was in the bag to the point where all my lakerfan buddies who i was watchin the game with were patting me on the back, and i was getting congrats texts from others

it was a while ago though, and it only really bothers me when i watch the replay of the game. i still have all the finals games on my dvr. it is what it is, but like i said, after the series was over i was more appreciative of the big 3 than anything
My friend here in VA who is a Wizards fan said Lebron is choking and congrats Cagney a few times during that game! I got the same texts you did man! I said it's not over yet a few times, be damned if I was not right. I never thought it was over honestly! With 28 seconds left and up 5 I was thinking to myself okay what is the worst that can happen but hoping for the best, just going over what bad could happen and planning for it and it did. It if what it is, done and over with and the stars aligned on what bad could happen. Worst loss in the Spurs history IMO yet and I know years of failure before in the 90's but that was years of failure! This was the Spurs team who went to the finals and had a shot to win and lost it! The team who executes well in their le runs was not there that night, not the 03-07 teams by any means IMO. Those teams would have whiped the floor with this Heat team, this the older Spurs team and senile POP though no........

So far, outside of the OKC series in 2012, I am not impressed by these Heat. I am being neutral, I hated the 04 Pistons but their defense was the best ever, the 08 Celts were an unbelievable HOME team, the 09 Lakers were high and low but knew how to hold on and win.

This Heat team has not been tested, the NBA is so ing pathetic this last 2 years its not really their fault. It's like a prime Mike Tyson, the moment he faced a real fighter he got his ass handed to him.

Man you are dead ing on 100% accurate here... Realest post of the night! This older Spurs team was good yeah, but most of their players out of their damn prime and not near their le teams! I agree on all you said above and it's dead on. Watered down NBA nowadays fully, period. The NBA sucks nowadays and most teams are bad and stats and records are padded.

Just my Bball observations. I loved the 09 Lakers but I felt the road was really easy outside of that Denver series. That 09 Lakers team was deep though, no one was stopping them except for Bynum's knees.

This Heat team struggled badly against their ONLY 2 tests last year. They held on to dear life against the Spurs and barely beat the Pacers.

Used to be that a team like Miami with the #1 seed would play a first round against a garbage team, a 2nd round against a 'tough team', a 3rd round against a very hard team, and the finals would be damn hard. So far this team has the first two rounds in the bag due to the EC being a joke.
