My impression is Tea Pottys want Cruz or Lee, and would find a Rand Paul pick favorably. None of which are electable, so the party will go with more establishment guys, like Christie/Ryan.

All the Republicans I know love Cruz, but I have never heard anyone talk about him really being a candidate in 2016. And I have yet to meet a Republican who disliked any of Bush's spending when you ask about individual programs, wars, etc (just like Cruz ). The deficit started with Obama.
