OP is a little premature on this take but if the TDL passes and the Spurs don't make a move they're ed. This isn't last year where all their compe ion is injured and they sleepwalk through the West. There's 4 teams that could beat San Antonio in the WC this year--including the Thunder who would stomp their asses out. Houston would beat them too.
Also,at people who say "this forum has fallen off
"...yeah, I guess it happened around 2007 when you stopped winning championships. Funny how that works.

I understand the panic from fellow Spurs fans. Timmy's time is running out as is Manu's. And realistically this is probably it if Tim is to get a 5th ring, that is if last year wasn't it. BUT, the trade deadline hasn't passed yet and the Spurs could be trying to make a move. We don't know what is going on behind the scenes. Panic if nothing happens and the deadline has come and gone. I know I will be upset. But I still love this team, always will. It's been an amazing run and I am trying to soak up as much of this as I can. I just look back and remember how amazing Timmy was when I was in high school. Now I feel as if maybe I took some of it for granted. You just get so used to greatness and how easy he made it look. I suppose it is human nature. Now every shot he makes, every rebound, every time he schools a young guy I just soak it up and marvel over his greatness. I'm in a pure enjoyment phase right now. The pain from last year is still fresh, but we have to enjoy every bit that is left. My kids are so young right now they won't really remember any of this. Yet they plop down and watch with me and cheer for Timmy and the Spurs in their little jerseys. Enjoy this while it is present. These are the times we will look back on and tell the stories about. These are the memories you grow to love.
i'd like to make a snarky remark but i can't.
my gut tells me you're right. my heart hopes you're wrong.
My gut tells me were going to end up making a big run at Pau Gasol. We desperately need a good big next to Duncan. Splitter isn't it.
My prediction: We trade Splitter. Joseph, and our upcoming 1st round pick for Gasol.
Not bad value for the Lakers, but would they take back long-term salary in Splitter?
that would be very interesting. Not sure what Gasol has left in the tank, at least defensively, but it would be an interesting move if it were to happen.
I will always love th spurs but it's sad and frustrating to see the spurs just sit back and chill because we were so close last year
A. Westbrook out, thunder knocked out by memphis
b. Westbrook out, thunder knocked out by memphis
c. Westbrook out, thunder knocked out by memphis
we seem to forget how lucky we were to get to the finals, now this year we are 1-11 against the top teams. Only wins against a clippers team with NO CP3
we got our ass handed to us by the thunder when we had BIG 3 and they were missing WESTBROOK
but call me when the writing is on the wall
And this is the right way to be a fan now. Despite our record, the team is not in a good place. Even at the beginning of the season before guys were hurt, the team looked as if it had never played together before. Though we are winning often, speaking relatively, we have not shown the capability of beating other Western playoff teams.
It doesn't make you a better fan to look at the record and go "scoreboard!"
The University of Hawaii football won a -ton on games a few years back playing pussy-ass spread offense type , but that doesn't they were as good as Alabama. Look at our record and project forward. Take into account compe ion. Remember the injuries of our conference last year and take those into account. Be honest.
Ignoring problems just makes you a got.. We need to cut out the head-in-the-sand bull and ing do something.
"But we beat the Lakers without Kobe and almost beat Miami."
You either win or you lose, gots, and we're losing the games that matter...every game that matters.
It's not ok.
And before some got says some loser-minded :
Yes I'm gonna be here when Timmy is gone and we're a ing lottery team. I've been waiting to draft early for like 8 years. That is almost as exciting as winning it all.

Did you have a truth sandwich for lunch?
Non-Issue, coasting, it's only February, etc etc etc...
if spurs make a trade it will be after it is announced that we know they are talking about it
if a trade rumor is out there for a few hours not going to happen
If we don't make a trade, I say call it a season. No need in putting extra mileage on the big 3 so sit them out until next year. In the mean time let kawhi run the team and get the experience necessary to become an all star next year. Trade your high draft pick for some legit talent and make one last go at it in 2015. The heat will suck by then and I don't see okc or Indy being able to defend their le
Anyone who cliff jumps in a season where we make the conference finals or better should get pinked automatically.
Tim is not Tim of last year yet but he has been balling since the early season slump! He has had some monster games! He still has it left. Parker I agree, he is banged up and just limping at times compared to his play last year when he was an MVP candidate. Manu has looked alot better this year. Splitter is still SPLITTER, yep soft and hurt. I agree on half of that there.I seriously doubt this happens but not a bad idea at all! I would do that there.
Yet the Clippers played better without CP3....
Obviously trolling, but this team if healthy has as good a chance as anyone given the improved play of Ginobili & Diaw and the addition of Mills & Belinelli to the rotation
28 different starting line ups till the star game! When the Spurs have everyone back off the injury list
and about 10 games with everyone here that's when I will worry about our chances...
That trade failed in ESPN trade checker, this is the only one that works for the Spurs:

Add in a first rounder and I wonder if that's to much value for Pau. Who knows how much he has left in the tank, Splitter will at least bring it defensively for the Spurs. Anyway if Gasol had to part ways with the Lakers trading him to a contender like the Spurs would be classy. I doubt this happens, Gasol's contract is $19 mill a year and the Lakers last game he was watching from the bench.

I feel like the last couple of months have been cliff diving.......to be honest since game 6 it's been nothing but cliff diving for the ol' sports on this side of the forum. Still, I will forego the season until the playoffs start which may be Duncan's last hurrah
Don't care if we win it all out. I just want to enjoy everything that is left in the Duncan era. We can face every problems after that.
2008, when you joined, tbh, imho.
Since I've joined the traffic to this site has been incredible...you went from local to syndicated. I am not the God, but I am a God
