Probably wasn't a penalty, as it looked to occur outside the box (and spilled into it). Red card still, of course.
Then again, any defender attempting to make that kind of tackle should be shot.

If you trip someone outside the box and the player stumbles and falls into the box, it's a penalty? Hmm not sure about that.

The play was close anyways and I can't really blame the referee regardless of the rule. In real time it looked in the box. Only the linesman could've helped out (usually asleep).

It's easy for us to see it was outside with our TVs and replays , but it was tough to call for the refs TBH

No, only if the contact continues inside the box.
And I agree, it was very close and a difficult call. I wouldn't want to blame any referee or linesman for making a mistake there.
