The better question is: Where would you rank Spoelstra all-time if he wins his third straight ship?
Flip the Pistons and the Spurs and this is good. If the Heat don't threepeat I'd still put them above the Rockets.

Eh, it's even easier to nitpick the Spurs' les. Their lockout le was in an actually pathetic league, nothing like the Heat's lockout le. The 2007 le had the Mavs choke, Horry hipcheck and a pathetic Cavs team that was only in the finals because of Lebron going godmode.
Probably behind the Shaq/Kobe Lakers. Shaq/Lebron would basically be a wash, but Kobe would outplay Wade. Bosh and Allen could be X-factors, though.
Like I said, who have the Heat played?
Their compe ion is nothing to write home about, sans perhaps the Pacers. They would be up there with the 96-98 Bulls and the 94-95 Hakeems. A three-peat is a dynasty, and there are only a few of those in NBA history.
I cant argue with that Pistons might be better than the Bad Boy Pistons but remember Isiah did beat Mj, Bird, Magic Drexler to repeat though Bird & magic were aging and MJ still learning.
But that makes some sense 4 rings is double what Pistons had ...
And a case can be made to bump Rox besides the Lakers 2009-2010 they are one of the least impressive repeat champs.
Heat deserve edge over both Clutch City and Kobe led repeat champions.
- 2011 Celtics and MVP Rose Bulls
- 2012 Thunder were pretty stacked and had some of the best refball the league's ever seen behind them.
- 2013 The Spurs with Danny "The greatest finals 3 point shooter of all time" Green. 6 makes this le immortal. They proved a team can coast in the finals until 28 seconds left of game 6 and still win.
- 2014 Stacked Pacers and Thunder teams
great question I think outside of Pop and RC I say third best coach in current NBA
Huh? I remember the MVPau-led repeat champions, but not any Kirby-led ones....
I can't believe people still subscribe to the notion that the Heat haven't played anyone.
So in other words no team in their primes.
Why you gotta ruin a good discussion with childish trollin'
How about you beat a SPurs team without 3 starters? This was a discussion about CHAMPIONSHIPS something team selfie knows about. If were talking about the best team in Cali or top 5 West teams you would be all good. And I would have to sit out ...grown folks talking in here. CLips, OKC fans etc are not allowed.
That's what I was going through. I originally wanted to put the Pistons higher because of the compe ion, but I couldn't justify putting them over the 2nd 3peat Bulls. The third ring was just too much. With that logic I had to put the Duncan Spurs higher. If the Pistons had held on and rung a year sooner they'd have been above the 3peat Bulls for sure.
And yeah there's a bunch of teams you could put in for #10. I'd keep the Heat if they hit their 4th straight final but end up with the loss. I'm not sure if I'd put them there right now
No team's ever in their prime if they lose. If the Thunder beat the Heat this year, that's what people are gonna say about the Heat too.
if the Kang won this year then I'd consider him half as good as the true basketball God (Jordan). Wade has been a 2nd banana for quite a few years so belongs in the Horry/Fisher category imho. Dude would be tied with Duncan in ring counts but would still be nowhere close to the greatest PF of all time in terms of actually achievements imho.
even if the heat 3 peat, i dont think of them highly, they have the easiest path the finals out west where round 1+2 are fodder teams....yet why are they being pushed by fodder teams in those rounds doesnt make sense that those teams wouldnt even sniff a playoff spot out west
Nah, not a jinx thread. Just honestly looking for some good basketball talk.
Personally, 4 straight NBA Finals appearances while winning the last 3 is going to be absolutely impressive. The fatigue factor is real, and beating a much improved Indiana will speak volume of the mental make up of that team.
tired old bag Dale peat
tired old bag arnie repeat
No. It'll be quiet, jimbo,,,except for the lynching of Bosh. That'll be loud, loud enough to cover James.
just a notch below the 3 peat lakers.
3 peat lakers were better even if Heat win IMHOHOHOHO
That's what happens when you ring. Kobe was absolved in 2011 and Gasol was lynched in his place. The narrative will be that Lebron's still in his prime but doesn't have a supporting cast.
That's because Gasol pled in broad daylight to the referees for mercy.
