As we all know, there were some of the worst officiated games/playoff series under Sterns watch in an effort to push w/e agenda Stern wanted at the time. Do you guys think this new guy will be Stern 2.0 or will he make the league better?

I've heard he wants to raise the age limit to get into the draft, which would raise the overall talent level. The next step would be to get rid of some teams, but that's just wishful thinking. Anyway, I digress. Discuss.

    Plz

Officiating has benefited your Spurs for the past decade. 05 vs Pistons, 07 vs Suns, 2010 vs Dallas were all lopsided in favor of the Spurs. Grow up

Officiating won't get better until all the corrupt old got refs retire and younger refs who can keep up with the speed of the game are brought in....

I don't think so, only thing that will make a difference is social media and fan protest. the commissioners answer to the owners. I'm sure Silver has some different ideas than Stern, but ultimately he's there to protect the league, make sure they are legally within their limits, and work with the Tribe on the media. I do think Silver will be better than Stern though.

Stern was mighty good to you, HI, and me when he ran Amare off there after Horry ran Nash into the boards. C'mon, now, duder, that doesn't happen we're both in big in' trouble.

    Addict.

Food for thought, though the pendulum has just begun the direction it's in.

I'm a fan of Nash so part of me felt bad for him, but I wouldn't change that result, especially since it was our last one for awhile.

Physicality hasn't been completely removed, it's just that some teams are allowed to play physical while others aren't....

Players/teams get preferential treatment no matter the era. But there are things that wouldn't occur as far as officiating is concerned on a regular basis that happens in this era.

He's not Stern 2.0, which means he's only making the league worse. At least Stern could pretty well cover up the signs of games being rigged. The failed all-star weekend this season ain't an au ious start for the new commissioner's tenure imho.

The all star weekend had been pretty bad these last few years, and somehow Silver made it worse

turning the dunk contest into a team compe ion

Point is you guys have no right to complain when you've been recipients of favorable officiating as well.

It's the same every year and yet we end up with a champion who bested the compe ion by beating their opponents and not having favors from the referees. Stop being pussies and assholes and quit whining on the officiating too much. There are 82 games in the regular season and 16-28 in the playoffs. Over the course of a 7-month season, alpha traits and the determination to win the NBA le will ALWAYS beat poor officiating. That's in Cubby 3:16

We'd both be miserable had Stern not run Amare off in '07 and not let Duncan stay in '07.
