Still overrating Doc Rivers?.
If the Clippers get far this year it's because of the improvement of Blake Griffin.
Truthbomb.
Fool's gold win tbh. 30% from 3 flop city scrubs shooting lights out. Flop City still won't be going nowhere with that ty defense.
Thing is, though, he'd have never stepped up his game with Vinny, tbh.... it's not a coincidence that he's taking the next step with Doc coaching him....
Coincidence he's improved when he gets a playoff experienced coach?
W/ Del Negro the Clippers were never gonna be taken seriously in the playoffs, Doc Rivers changes that IMO.
And by the way how are the Clippers "bad" defensively when they're in the top 10 in defensive rating?
10th in defensive rating=bad defense?
You can't just go by OPP PPG, the Knicks were in the top 10 in OPP PPG last year but their defensive rating was bad.
Oh yeah for sure. But the poster I quoted thinks Doc is an all-time great coach. Vinny Del Negro was just super awful.
Doc's a better coach than you're giving him credit for, tbh.... he's not Phil or Pop, but he's a huge step up from the majority of coaches in the league....
Doc Rivers is the best coach in the Western Conference not named Gregg Popovich. Not giving Doc Rivers any credit is wrong IMO.
thinking Rivers is a good coach...he's better than VDN but that's like saying riding a bicycle is better than having to walk.
I got him third behind Carlise, but Doc's severely underrated on here
I remember a lot ofwhen asked if Carlisle had a chance against Phil Jackson in 2011 too.
I'd say him and Carlisle are on the same level.
and I remember a lot of "Doc Rivers sucking so much in Boston before getting bailed out by Thibs and the Big 3"
18 game losing streak
didn't even get Oden or Durant
...typical grey take. Carlisle didn't have to be a better coach than Phil when he had a legendary player that had a legendary playoff run.
They routinely give up 100+ ppg against teams that matter.... (102 to Memphis, 113 to us, 117 to Portland, 116 to Miami, 111 to GSW)... keeping the Sixers or Utah under 90pts doesn't matter.
And IMO, if you're not in the top 5, you have no shot. The Spurs from two-three seasons ago with the high-scoring offense were top 10 too, but in the playoffs you get rickrolled.
