Can't Clark sign with any team right now since he was waived 3 days ago? Strange we haven't heard much about him (even possible suitors) when he has the most upside of the bunch tbh. Not sure what it says about him.

If he wants revenge and a ring: Heat

If he wants the best chance of playing time on a top team: Clippers

If he wants the closest organizational/basketball match to the only NBA team he has ever known: Spurs

Plus, like I said, Danny's net PER at SF is better than Clarks (despite Danny being awful this year overall). Maybe that gives SA more hope. But This was just a down year for Clark on the worst franchise in the NBA. But, even last year he was a net negative overall except for SF where he was break even.

Why would he get more PT on Clips? They have a ton of wings (even if they aren't thrilled with them)

    "Best chance of playing time"

He has more chance of getting minutes ahead of Barnes/Dudley than ahead of Leonard/Green, IMO.

I guess I was viewing the fact there is only one true SF here, vs several there (which we've seen the opportunity here with Kawhi both healthy and unhealthy) in addition to the fact Ayres & Baynes suck which might open up small ball PF opportunities as well.

Andrew Perna: Danny Granger will be a free agent soon. My bet is on the Spurs. Twitter @Andrew_Perna

I still prefer Clark, but don't mind Granger at all. Just hope the Spurs aggressively pursue one of these two and not just wait like Chinook said.

I would hate to end up with a guy like Antawn Jamison or Shannon Brown.

I just hope whoever they sign understands they aren't likely to be in the playoff rotation.

Yup - unless some miracle Boris Diaw level fit happens, playoff rotation is set if healthy:

    Tim/TP/Manu/Kawhi/Tiago/Boris/Danny/Patty/Beli

Just speculating. No actual source with evidence that Granger is signing here.

My OP was strictly based on Granger's chances to get minutes in the playoffs based on the exact rotation you named. He could well get Ayres' regular season minutes, but that role will disappear when the playoffs start.

It'll probably only disappear in a series with a lot of small ball, in which case Leonard will eat up the remaining fourth big minutes. Short of that, chances are there will be spot minutes going to either Ayres or Bonner, unless they sign Granger. A strict three big rotation is only utilized when one can play virtually unlimited minutes.

In that scenario, Bonner and/or Baynes get those 4th big minutes.

Yeah, I'd lean Bonner, but there's no chance Baynes get's them. If the thought of Baynes potentially being that had even crossed Pop's mind, given how bad Ayres has looked (and how blatantly frustrated he's has been with him), we'd have seen an extended look by now. It's clear they view him as strictly a specialist; someone to bang with the overpowering low post centers.

This is why I thought the Spurs might go small more in the playoffs if they get Granger, so that they don't have to play Bonner or Baynes at all. I wouldn't want to put Granger on Z-Bo, but he might do okay against Parsons or maybe Ibaka.

Granger will get time in the PO if we pick him up. If anything, Mills/Joseph would be taken out of the rotation first.

Maybe the FO knows something we don't. MWP's condition is probably worse than it seems.
He had PRP therapy this year. He's only been able to play 42 minutes in 13 games since. Bad wheel.
