It would be a shame if Granger didn't go the Spurs. He would really fit into the organization's culture--he's extremely intelligent.

Granger score a 30 on the ACT, which is roughly equivalent to 2000 on the SAT. That means his IQ is approximately in the top 2% of the world population. That puts his intelligence on the "Gifted" level and makes it high enough to allow him to join a high-IQ society like Mensa.
Lol at thinking SAT scores are comparable to intellect. Anyone who studies can get a 2000.

Ramona ShelburneVerified account ‏@ramonashelburne Granger's reps are at the Clipper game and mtg with team officials tonight, but Rockets also making a push so several reasons to be here.
Rockets? . Won't be many minutes to be had there since Harden and Parsons each play like 40 mins a game at the 2 and 3 spot anyway...

Hey Granger, Big Baby looks pleased to be with the Clippers:

and hasn't played any minutes yet
You'd figure he would get minutes tonight against the bigs of the Rockets and with the lack of bigs the Clippers have on their bench.

The SAT is an ap ude test. By it's very nature, it's designed to measure innate ability, not academic achievement. Studying can only elevate your score by so much, but those who score highest on it have significant cognitive ability relative to their peers.

    I said "Gifted" not "Genius."

But that's beside the point. For somebody who plays basketball for a living, 2,000 is a ridiculously high score. Heck, most people in SpursTalk probably failed to score that high when they took their SAT's.

Something I read off the Clutchfans own Danny Granger thread:

    " Right now:

    1. Clips
    2. Rockets/Spurs

Talked briefly with my homie today...It all comes down to the role. The Role. Danny isn't going to be happy with 10-15 a game. He wants to contribute more than riding around for a ring.

I don't see how the Clips can offer him any of that "role" or the minutes, but Doc is a POWERHOUSE.

    But, not to fear,

I heard that Danny really LIKES the Spurs, but he doesn't like how S.Jackson was booted (they're tight) and the age issue. Also, his role on that team.

They're selling the Robert Horry role (legit) and (per HoopsHype) and my dude says Danny is not a Robert Horry.

He doesn't want to come in in the last 5 minutes for heroics.

He wants consistent minutes, a role and respect. Shoot, that's why the Heat never had a chance. Danny is a stand up dude. Real recognize real. (that last part was just me )"

Did you take the test at all? I have. It's literally just memorizing. There's nothing intuitive about it. You memorize words and algorithms. That's it.

And it was even easier 14 years ago when Granger was in high school. And the ACT is even easier than the SAT.

Granger isn't serious about coming to the Spurs. Probably using us like everyone else. Philly never should have ing bought him out. Should've let him sit on the bench the rest of the season.
This is sounding more and more true unfortunately. I for one would have liked to have him on the roster, but I also am not against MWP at all either..

It shouldn't deter the Clips from courting Granger, but unless he can play two-guard, he should really worry about getting minutes with Dudley and Barnes playing well.

Meanwhile, LAC may need a guard. Gordon on their radar now?

If Clippers sign Granger, Clippers most likely cut Turkoglu, and Spurs might sign Turkoglu.

You guys can stop talking about how smart Granger is. This guy is a dumb MOFO.

This guys want guaranteed minutes? I wouldn't even guarantee him minutes, let alone Pop. Why would any contending team guarantee him minutes? If he sucks, that's going to hurt that team and that might take them out of contention, so I sure as wouldn't guarantee him anything. This guy needs to realize that it's all up to him to earn minutes based on performance, not given to him. Teams don't win Championships like that.

He's not a Championship player with that at ude, and he has no confidence in his game.

Its easy for us to complain about Granger's wishes. The important thing for him is to continue in the NBA with a decent enough contract that will allow him to play for some more time. Whether he will get it by being a bench warmer in a championship contending team or a regular-semi-regular in a decent team will impact on his future. No one can begrudge his thought process considering this.

He's trying to have it all. He wants minutes, championship and to get paid after it. That is a ridiculous ask.

The only teams that should guarantee him minutes is teams that aren't contending for the Championship, otherwise, you could ruin your team's own chances if you make him a promise like that and he stinks it up. No thanks.

I don't think he is seeking a promise. I think he is just seeking a position where there will be playing time on a winning squad. It isn't as if there are no teams out there that can provide him that. The Clips top the list. Granger has to take a call whether he prefers to play for Doc Rivers' semi-contending squad among a crowded wing rotation or Popovich's contending squad with a even more strong wing rotation where he will best be emergency backup. There is nothing ridiculous about it. Its just due process.

My hope is that Granger will see the light in playing for the Spurs who will clearly give him minutes in the regular season as they have a clear distribution and resting policy. IF Pop and RCB convince him that way and tell him that he will get a role in the playoffs depending on the situation, what is to say that he doesnt' accept it?
